Question by johnfarber2000: Americans are willing to break the law to get illegal drugs. They enrich drug dealers who then corrupt?
public officials. Our jails are full and that is costing huge amounts of money. This is similar to when selling alcohol wasagainst the law. The gangs and gansters prospered, judges, police and other public officials were bought and society suffered. Should we legalize it, control it, tax it and put the drugs cartel out of business. Educate the public and treat addicts as well.

Why Religion should be in schools
First southern Baptist Church in Dover wrote, “Back in 1962, when prayer was removed by the Supreme Court, something happened to America’s soul and America’s schools. Our nation became increasingly secular and less tolerant of moral standards and values. Since America became to proud to pray to the God of Heaven who created us, we have been reaping the rewards. Crime is way up. The family has broken up. The test scores of students have taken a submarine dive. Its time for a change!” I feel that is it is time that our public schools stop viewing religion in schools as a taboo. There are limits however. Religion should for the most part be kept out of the curriculums of younger school children; I don’t think that they need the complexity of debating their life style while struggling through Kindergarten. Prayer is definitely a personal issue, but its up to the individual to decide how private he or she wants it to be. As long as it doesn’t infringe upon the rights of others, we all have to become more tolerant and accepting of people practicing their beliefs in public. The best way to keep religion in public schools would be allowing a period of 15min, were you could chose to pray or do something else, or an after school activity could be taken up that allowed children to talk with some about religion (like a Sunday school).
To begin with, the idea that religion in schools may cause conflicts groups is probably the exact opposite of what really happens when religion is introduced to public schools. Children, who may have not got to known each other or may not have known that they are of the same faith, would have not formed bonds or relationships otherwise. The public school system is known for its rise in alcoholism, drug use, HIV transmission, and school shootings. Religion in schools can help combat these issues, and would instill a sense of morality to many of the students.
Secondly, exposing religion to schools would also be allowing student to get a better feel for another student’s culture or back ground. Allowing a student to become more accepting and to actually understand another’s religion is the best thing for a student when they actually enter the real world. Not only is the student exposed to the cultures or ideas of another but also they are open to ideas about themselves and possibly where they stand morally and with their faith.
Lastly, a student being open to all of these religions, cultures, and ideas, they never would have acknowledged had it not have been for allowing students to know of other faiths. When these faiths are introduced to another students mind they begin to really question their faith and what they believe(in a good way). Many children are brought up to believe what their parents believe, worship with parents, and celebrate with parents, but allowing children to see other religions really lets them decide what they want to believe in, instead of believing in what their parents believe.
Religion in schools is a great thing for schools and students. Students are morally and affected through this, they are less likely to commit crimes with religion introduced to them through schools. Children are more understanding of others religions, and students are able to get a feel for their own views of religion, and also get a better understanding for their own religion.
