Question by i_love_u_123: How hard it is to get a career in law enforcement if I’ve used drugs?
I have always liked law enforcement jobs and criminal justice. However, when I was younger (high school/beginning college) I experienced with many drugs many times. I changed my life around and i’m completely clean now. I know law enforcement jobs are obviously strict on drug usage…should I just give up on this?

Question by The fabulous one: How to avoid forced drug treatment? I haven’t used drugs since march! It’s October now.?
I’m on probation. Judge ordered drug and alcohol evaluation, mental health evaluation, ETC. I haven’t used drugs in over 7 months, and the drug and alcohol dirtbags want me to come for treatment anyway. My crime wasn’t even drug related. I have phsycological problems as well. I’ve maintained being clean for so long, I’m not worried about their testing. I don’t like to remember the past, because a lot of stuff deeply depresses me, and some stuff will affect me for my entire life. I have difficulty talking to people due to traumas from childhood. THIS IS TORTURE. There must be some kind of law against this. I’ve heard from other people that they are there for the money. My medicaid expired, I was also on food stamps and cash assistance, and i’m not reapplying because I want to go back to work. I don’t want to live on the system forever. Now I have to give them money out of my pocket that I don’t have, and I don’t even have a problem. I’m trying so hard to overcome a lot of issues, and these people are making things 10 times harder. Are there any laws or ways out of this? Sources and links would be very helpful as well.
wayne county pennsylvania. Or should i say HELLVANIA.
I’m being forced to talk to their drug counselors. i’m already going to counseling with a counselor I feel comfortable with. I’m facing my problems, but not with these people. As long as I don’t use drugs, and my system is clean upon testing, that’s what counts. Many times I tell them, “I don’t remember.” Actually, as long as I don’t relapse, which I know I won’t, I don’t have to tell them anything, do I?

Sorry but I think you are stuck in their system now which means you have to play by their rules. I know it sucks and the classes they usually offer are a joke anyways. About your past, you do need to face it at some point where you get to a place that talking about it is not so hard. If you don’t something could trigger it all to come back and haunt you again. But back to the main question, just do the classes and participate as much as possible so maybe they will shorten the length you have to do them.

Bouncers, used excessive force?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 10, 2010
I went to a strip club last night with some friends… There was a guy there that we knew and he was letting us drink his Grey Goose alcohol that he had in a cooler. He went upstairs, left the bottle downstairs. When I went to get some of the Grey Goose, the bouncer grabbed me and told me not to get any, even though I tried to tell him I had permission. Well, I guess that sort of irritated me because he grabbed me like that, and since we had permission to get some and he didn’t want to beleive me, so when he wasn’t watching I went over to the cooler again. I expected I would be asked to leave as soon as he saw me. Before I could get to it, he ran up, grabbed me and started forcefully escorting me out of the club. He didn’t even ask me to leave. I guess he let his anger get to him. It was okay with me…I wasn’t fighting with him, I was cooperating with the escort. But when we got to the door, another bouncer assisted the other by picking up my feet (I’m 5’5, and weigh 120 pounds). When we got outside, the bouncers threw me, face first, onto the parking lot. I hit the cement, which caused minor injuries (bruise on my elbow, and a few cuts on my arm). My friends and I then left.
Anyway, I don’t understand why they couldn’t have just asked me to leave… I can walk on my own. I used to be a detention officer, and even though I’m pretty positive that bouncers don’t get detention officer privilege, we were taught as detention officers not to use any force if the inmates were complying with our verbal commands. I feel it was very unprofessional of the bouncers to treat me this way. When I used to be a detention officer, while escorting inmates, we didn’t pickup a non-resistant inmate that was walking fine on his own, and then drop him on the concrete floor when we reached our destination.
I have pretty credible witnesses because my friends are both police officers and saw what happened. I know I was in the wrong for agitating the bouncer, and I understand his frustration, but I don’t think that gives them the right to cause injury by picking me up and throwing me on the concrete parking lot, face first. Especially when I was cooperating and not trying to fight them. I think they took advantage of my small size.
Should I file criminal charges, or contact an attorney about possible civil action?
will turning myself into rehab keep me from going back to prison after my 3 tries on prop 36 r used up?

Do you think prison/jail should be used as rehab?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on June 29, 2010
I’ve always thought going to jail means you are being punished for a crime, and learning or preparing to go back into society should not be the focus. Obviously school, parents and society failed to influence their choices in life. Why should doing a bad deed reward someone by using a prison system on tax dollars as a place to get rehab when their victims won’t be able to (like the ones they’ve murdered/robbed/raped/molested,etc.)?
