My son who is 17 has a drinking problem. I found two big bottles of vodka in his room and vodka concealed in water bottles in his refrigerator. I have found a treatment center in the area that I have made an appointment with but my son refuses to go saying he doesn’t have a problem. The treatment center said I might have to get a Court order issued. How do I go about doing that if I can’t convince my son to go.

talk to his physician & your attorney. see what qualifications are required by your insurance company.

After playing competitive tennis for 7 years 5-8 hours a week, I finally developed pain in my right shoulder at the bursa. The shoulder is slightly painful for a few days following play then goes away after ice, anti-inflamitories and rest (no tennis). Once I’ve given the shoulder this brief time to heal, I feel no pain during my every day activities. Question: How long do I need to avoid playing in order for the pain to NOT reappear once I do get back on the court. Would a cortisone shot – should my doctor give me one – keep any pain from reappearing? Bottom line, I’m devistated to not be able to play as tennis is my passion.

Everyone’s body is different. You’ll have to experiment with time off and see how fast your shoulder recovers. Cortisone could help, but the doc might tell you to just take ibuprofen and rest it. I’d take ibuprofen before I played if I were you. That can help some.

I’m on probation. Judge ordered drug and alcohol evaluation, mental health evaluation, ETC. I haven’t used drugs in over 7 months, and the drug and alcohol dirtbags want me to come for treatment anyway. My crime wasn’t even drug related. I have phsycological problems as well. I’ve maintained being clean for so long, I’m not worried about their testing. I don’t like to remember the past, because a lot of stuff deeply depresses me, and some stuff will affect me for my entire life. I have difficulty talking to people due to traumas from childhood. THIS IS TORTURE. There must be some kind of law against this. I’ve heard from other people that they are there for the money. My medicaid expired, I was also on food stamps and cash assistance, and i’m not reapplying because I want to go back to work. I don’t want to live on the system forever. Now I have to give them money out of my pocket that I don’t have, and I don’t even have a problem. I’m trying so hard to overcome a lot of issues, and these people are making things 10 times harder. Are there any laws or ways out of this? Sources and links would be very helpful as well.

I’m being forced to talk to their drug counselors. i’m already going to counseling with a counselor I feel comfortable with. I’m facing my problems, but not with these people. As long as I don’t use drugs, and my system is clean upon testing, that’s what counts. Many times I tell them, “I don’t remember.” Actually, as long as I don’t relapse, which I know I won’t, I don’t have to tell them anything, do I?

Sorry but I think you are stuck in their system now which means you have to play by their rules. I know it sucks and the classes they usually offer are a joke anyways. About your past, you do need to face it at some point where you get to a place that talking about it is not so hard. If you don’t something could trigger it all to come back and haunt you again. But back to the main question, just do the classes and participate as much as possible so maybe they will shorten the length you have to do them.

My fiance is 41 years old. We live in northern texas. He is currently in jail facing a felony charge. I’ve been talking to his lawyer on finding a place for him to be court ordered to go to get help and hes asking me to give him some numbers and places. Hes addicted to drugs and alcohol. He also has liver problems that will someday take his life if he doesn’t stay sober. The only place that i know of that will help him the best is a non-profit organization called Teen Challenge. Its free and it really helps its students. Although im trying to find other places that are similar that may be a better suit for him. He also has to take medication everyday for his bipolar and schizophrenia, so im looking for a place that will allow that medical support also. Over all im looking for some place that is Free, medical facility,christian environment, and long term. Thank you so very much this would mean the world to me if i had some help.

Back in 1995 I used to sell weed in order to survive, I caught a case, which I fought for years before I decided to take the probation. My life has changed since then and I do not live that life anymore. In December I found out my daughter was molested by her father and tried drinking my problems away. My probation found out of my alcohol use and ordered me to get into treatment and complete it by a certain date. I was evaluated and treatment was not recommended, but I am ordered to do it anyways. My insurance will not pay for it without it recommending that I need it. I am on the Verge of homelessness if I do not find a job and a new apartment right away. Also i do not have my authorization for daycare to put my kids in, and time is something I just do not have right now in order to do what they say in there time frame. I can find a way to do so just not before June, but they want it NOW. I have to meet with probation next week and would like to have my letter stating I have completed treatment. What does a letter like this consist of. PLEASE NO SMART ALIC REMARKS OR SAYING ANYTHING IRRELEVANT TO MY QUESTION JUST TO OBTAIN SOME POINTS.

She was addicted to pain killers ,and stole the drugs from her own organization.Then to top it off she didnt do any jail time .My guess (and its a very good one)thats because she is rich and she is married to a US senator.If it were you are I ,WOW we would still be in jail.

I was recently convicted of forgery in march and sentenced to 4 years probation and ordered to pay restitution ($600) I lied to the courts and said i didnt have a substance abuse problem. I am again being charged with the same crime(i wrote out checks on my ex boyfriends account while i was under the influance of meth). I knew i had a problem because i couldnt stop no matter how hard i tried. After i was arrested in July of this year i put myself on a waiting list at a local treatment center and graduated thier Intensive rehab treatment program after 8 weeks. I go to 5 self help groups a week and attend AA/NA meeting regularly and also meet with a counselor once a week. Recently i excepted a managing position at a cell phone company and am putting my life back together. i am residing in a half way house and have been clean for almost 6 months. The prosecuter in my case wants me to go to prison. my sentencing date is December 7th 06. does anyone know anyone that has been in my situation

I am trying to find a residential treatment program in Illinois that accepts Medicaid and Medicare . I need inpatient treatment for alcoholism immediately, due to a pending court case, and also because I want treatment. I am looking for a 21 to 30 day program. I had to attend a DWI screening at a drug and alcohol center for an evaluation ordered by the DMV of NY to get my license back, I told them the truth that I hadn’t had a drink in more than a year or done drugs in over 2 years they charged me $200 bucks then told me after 15 minutes of yes and no questions that I needed at 12 week program. That sounds sketchy to me!!! it seems like they just want your money
