Shoulder Bursitis Treatment / Recovery?

Question by Ryan P: Shoulder Bursitis Treatment / Recovery?
After playing competitive tennis for 7 years 5-8 hours a week, I finally developed pain in my right shoulder at the bursa. The shoulder is slightly painful for a few days following play then goes away after ice, anti-inflamitories and rest (no tennis). Once I’ve given the shoulder this brief time to heal, I feel no pain during my every day activities. Question: How long do I need to avoid playing in order for the pain to NOT reappear once I do get back on the court. Would a cortisone shot – should my doctor give me one – keep any pain from reappearing? Bottom line, I’m devistated to not be able to play as tennis is my passion.

Everyone’s body is different. You’ll have to experiment with time off and see how fast your shoulder recovers. Cortisone could help, but the doc might tell you to just take ibuprofen and rest it. I’d take ibuprofen before I played if I were you. That can help some.

Q&A: Harassing daily calls from debt collecter called Portfolio Recovery?

Question by OliveSorceress: Harassing daily calls from debt collecter called Portfolio Recovery?
Is anyone else getting bizarre calls from Portfolio Recovery? They say I owe on a Visa bill from 1993! I told them I did not and they keep calling with threats and insults. I told them to take me to court and get a judge to order me to pay after they prove the debt is real.

The calls started sometime last summer and this is the first I’ve heard that I owe money from 1993.

Are these people are valid company or are they manufacturing /buying fake debt records?

The telephone number they are contacting me on is in Illinois. To what government agency can I report them to?

Best answer:

Answer by Laissez-Faire Guy
Tell them that this is not a valid debt, and instruct them to stop calling you, or you will sue them under the provisions of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

If you have an answering machine, inform them you are taping that call and then read them that statement. Then tape any future calls. Keep a written log too.

You should also follow up with a written letter stating the same, sent certified mail.

Under the Act, you really can sue them if they continue contacting you, except if they notify you about a complaint they’ve filed.

Report any problems you have with a debt collector to your state Attorney General’ s office and the Federal Trade Commission. Many states have their own debt collection laws, and your Attorney General’ s office can help you determine your rights

Any Child Support Recovery, GA, people on here, or someone that has had an ex thrown in jail for non-payment?

Question by CaCO3Girl: Any Child Support Recovery, GA, people on here, or someone that has had an ex thrown in jail for non-payment?
I am becoming exceedingly frustrated. My husband has custody of his son, and his ex was ordered to pay child support. The short story is that she has refused to do this and on 6/9 Child Support recovery took her to court for contempt, and she didn’t even show up for that. We were told “An Arrest order in the full amount of the back child support owed will be issued”. We asked about it more plainly and they said “We are going to lock her in jail and the only way out for her is to come up with everything that she owes you.”

Okay, pretty plain!!! That was on 6/9, and there is still no warrant for her. The Child Support Recovery office said it takes time to draw up the papers, and then get them to the judge and then back to the cops. But how much time does this take???

During the summer his ex gets his son every other week. We don’t want him at her house when the cops come to arrest her, but we can’t seem to get anyone to give us a time schedule on when this will happen.

Anyone out there have ANY idea??? ANY?????
FYI, we waited a full year after we got custody to even bring her to child support recovery. My husband could have asked for hundreds of dollars a week, and he asked for just , because she does have other kids and he didn’t want to be mean. The custody order required child support to be awarded, and we had a hard time with the judge allowing that little. And yes we are worried that my step son will see his mom arrested, but we gave her a year to pay child support, and she felt above it. They suspended her drivers license and she is still above it, they asked her to go to court and explain herself, she didn’t show up. I have no sympathy for someone who has been given every opprotunity to make things right, and just ignors all help because she thinks she is too good for it.

Things take time, that is anything that has to do with bureaucracy does at least. I would imagine it would take anywhere from 30 to 90 days or 4 to 6 business weeks (remember, don’t count weekends!!) I would go down to the police station and ask to speak to who is in charge and explain the situation as nicelyy as possible, it is easier for someone to blow you off on the phone, but harder for them to blow you off in person…..

What do you think? Answer below!

appear in court. they can make payment arrangements. that would probably be best you shouldnt avoid this. they cant put you in jail but they can garnish the hell out of your wages and make you pay court and lawyer fees, which would suck..
