Question by kisstheviolets9: What happens if your in an ARD DUI classes program in PA and you fail the court ordered drug test?
I did lose my license already but now I have the option to get it back. It’s not the license I’m worried about, I’m worried whether they can sentence me to actual jail time, or fines, or more classes or what…
Also, I got the DUI for drunk driving originally not drugs.
And is it smart to tell my lawyers I think I’m going to fail ahead of time?

Question by cindysv764: How does a court ordered drug rehab halfway house program work? What is the process and procedures?
I like to know the length of the program, the process and prcedures? My boyfriend is sent to one, he was setenced to 365 days and his release date is Nov. 21 2006, but he is to do the program instead of the time. He has 2 mths credit time served already. Basically how long is the program’s process, when will he began to have visits and phone calls? Ect. He is determined to succeed in this program but I like more info because I want him back home asap! Can anyone help give me answers? PLEASE!
This halfway house is in Fresno Ca. I was unable to find any info online. I know there is a blackout period, someone told me it was 30 days but if it is anything like the group homes my daughter was in they had a 10 day blackout period. If the stay is only 4 mths that is great! The home had picked him up from county Friday and I have not heard from him since and it’s frusturating not knowing whats going on.

I used to work in a halfway house, the process is usually different in different states here in California judges would order people to do a year but are almost always out in 4 months max. as far as phone calls and visits, that is up to whoever runs the home so you’d have to get that info from the Program Director but it’s usually a two week wait.

How do you follow the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step program if you don’t believe in God?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 22, 2010
Step 1 – We admitted we were powerless over our addiction – that our lives had become unmanageable
Step 2 – Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity
Step 3 – Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood God
Step 4 – Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves
Step 5 – Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs
Step 6 – Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character
Step 7 – Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings
Step 8 – Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all
Step 9 – Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others
Step 10 – Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it
Step 11 – Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God’s will for us and the power to carry that out
Step 12 – Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs
Do you just skip steps 2, 3, 6, 7, and 11?
I’m not looking for alternate ways to quit drinking here. I want to know what an atheist does if they’re required by law to attend AA meetings, or if they want to follow the AA program and not another program.

Boyle jail program helping inmates battle substance abuse
With the correctional system overflowing with non-violent drug offenders and the price to house them always rising, the Boyle County Detention Center is one of the jails across the state designated to try to treat the addictions at the root of many drug-related crimes.

Can you complete a court ordered substance abuse rehab program from Hawaii in Florida?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on June 26, 2010
In Hawaii first time DUI offenders must take a 14 hour substance abuse rehab program course. I am moving back to Florida two days after my hearing and was wondering if anyone new if it was possible to complete the program in Florida? If not I’ll have to fly back to Hawaii just to take this program. To me a “rehab” program can be done anywhere.
Should American courts be able to order people into a “faith based” program?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on April 26, 2010
AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) is a spiritually based treatment program. It requires acknowledgement of a “higher power” however you concieve it to be. But, it requires that acknowledgement…
Do you believe it is fair for the court system to mandate a treatment program that is faith based?
Should a secular treatment program be mandated instead, for those in need of treatment who are not religious or spiritual??

I’m not against mandated treatment, but I am against mandated religion.
Tonight on MSNBC, I watched a program about prison inmates……………………..?

and their drug addictions. It appalls me that these people are supporting families selling drugs from inside the prison walls, and that the warden says that the prison guards and officials turn a blind eye to their drug use because it keeps them happier. What do you think about that?
Before Michael Jackson’s death could his family have had a court order to have him placed in a rehab program ?

Why is AA a government program and religious?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on April 26, 2010
I know Alcoholics Anonymous probably isn’t an actual government program, but the judicial system requires many many drunk drivers, etc. to attend AA meetings. Ummmmm, requires, AA is quite religious. Is this not against the separation of church and state.
I still think that’s against church and state because they require you to believe there’s one god, not many. Also, that doesn’t make sense because people’s beliefs who don’t believe in god are then being violated.
