Im on random drug screens, and I havnt smoked in 32 days but I have failed two drug tests. They use the instant dipstick urine analysis but do not send it to the lab (i pour it out after they test it). Then after failing the second test they tell me i need to re fill out their forms giving them a newer date of use. but I havnt used! So I have to pay an additional dollars to have it lab tested, to find out what I already know. I have been a consistant every day heavy smoker for 3 years, and they just assume that after 4 weeks I should be clean or atleast near the cutoff date. This is court ordered and in the past, as a juvenile, (6 years ago) They lab tested every sample but now that doesnt seem to matter to them. The first test was 21 days clean, the second was 32 days clean. im afraid in 2 weeks when I get tested if I fail I will have to pay another for nothing. do I have a case to argue and possibly get my $$ back from my probation officer?
well that makes a lot of sense, I do pay for the test already and they could make me get a lab confirmation and pay for that too. And i’m not paying to contest the fact, and saying its a false positive. Its positive because the metabolites are still in my system. Everybody’s body is different, to say 30 days is the average is rediculous. Thanks for the responses!!
Its the fact that i have to pay extra money, or fill out a form stating I used since my last date, which would be a lie. I guess im more worried about my PO not understanding my situation, I guess my best bet would be to pay the dollars everytime atleast then he will see the levels are dropping. no thanks to that first answer, wh*r* up the points you troll.

During the birth of the US Constitution, it was understood that people had the right to do what they wanted with their own minds and bodies. Why do we now have federal drug laws against marijuana which puts more “offenders” into prisions wasting taxpayer money? Do we really want the government making personal decisions for us?
People smoking marijuana privately in their own homes without causing a problem does not constitute anything close to interstate commerce.

they make so much money catching people who do drugs, fines, fees, all sorts of crazy cash. the department of trasnportation is in on it too

How many of you have any of the traits listed below in your family, specifically in the past 2-3 generations….?

Mental Illness: depression, bipolar, manic depressive, etc….Suicidal Tendancies

Alcoholism or Drug Addiction of some type: whether they be street drugs, prescriptions, etc….

Felons or Close family that has done time in prison or jail….

Been a victim of domestic violence: note, this does not only include physical, but mental, emotional,financial….

As i said before, i am asking out of curiosity, not to use against anyone else…for i actually fit into most that i have listed myself….

If you do answer this question honestly, please list your religious or spiritual affiliation….As usual, no bashing….and i hope that i have not offended anyone by asking such a thing…

And please let me add, that it is only by my spiritual path that i have been able to overcome so many of these, thus breaking the cycle….
Thank you all for being so gracious as to answer…no, i had no intention of posting any type of statistics or results….only letting others know that they are not alone, and once the spiritual condition is cured in the individual, the mental and the physical seems to follow.

As for my friend with the daughter in counseling, i wish you strength, and patience….self mutilation is a way of releasing inner pain that one cannot seem to release in a normal and or appropriate manner, it is actions of this nature which lead to more dangerous addictions and drugs…to numb the pain. I am only saying this because i have been there…You are doing the right thing by keeping her in counseling. I truely hope this works…

I would like to mention though, that addictions, alcoholism, etc…all of these do not effect just the individual, but the entire family unit.
Therefore, we probably all need to be in counseling of some type it would appear!

He’s been depressed since i’ve known him (about 7 years). He’s gone through drug abuse, physically abusing his girlfriend (even while she was pregnant), prison, alcoholism and serious self-esteem and love issues. His mother is a real piece of work who is pretty much the reason he is who he is. His father and step-mother claim to be there for him, but are on the ‘he’s a big boy and can take care of himself’ page.
He doesnt seem depressed at all to most people, but i’ve always been the person he’s confided in. More recently (last 6+ months) he’s been scaring the sh!t out of me. He calls (like last night) me real late and talks to me about how numb he is and how he has no desire to live.
He doesnt complain about anything in specific, he has no real gripes. He just doesn’t want to be alive.
He doesn’t have the money or time to go to a counselor and wouldnt want to see one anyway. I feel like i’m the only person who can help him.
What can I do? I’m terrified for him.
He’s never threatened to kill himself. I make him promise that he wont and he says “I would never do that. I promise.” but continues on about how little he feels. And I actually recognized this in him before he came to terms with it.

I think i’m going to start looking for some low-cost or free counseling. Maybe i’ll drive him and make sure he goes and always has a means of getting there.

Is drug addiction the only disease you get thrown in jail for having it?

If it’s a disease why can you buy it on street corners? If it’s a dsease why do they have treatment limits? I could go on and on.

This is my third pregnancy, and I’ve always been a heavy coffee drinker and since I’m not on my painkillers sleeping pills or my anti depressnts anymore (I had to go through a court ordered detox program at a rehab), I only get about two hours of sleep, which makes me have to drink even more coffee. sometimes, I go up to 50 hours without sleep. I have hallucinations all the time and sometimes I just get so angry that I want to stab my husband, when hes home, of course, because he is! never home and im sure that he is hgaving an affair but he wont accompany me to, the counseling, that I suggested we go to. im so sad and I dont even want to have this baby. uis there something wrong with? me? is this post partum depressan?

If you do not have an open mind or are going to say bad things about what she does then don’t bother!
My best friend does pot, and she drinks. She failed her last court ordered drug test. Now, she just got arrested for drinking. she’s 19 which was a miracle considering she was planning on doing acid tonight.
Idk what to do. I told her how bad it hurts me that she does it so close to her court date (idc if she does it but her court date is less than a month). she says that it hurts her that it hurts me but she just doesn’t stop. i’m just so afraid of losing her to a bad trip or her going to jail.
how can i get to her? i just don’t want her to do this stuff anymore. she’s been to rehab 4 times. she’s been hospitilized. so lock downs don’t work.
i don’t want an intervention.
idk i’m so helpless.
I’ve been to every court appearance. I’m the one to bail her out.
