Question by Katrina R: Are the drug laws changing in a way that effect how much time a drug offender receives?
I heard that the mandatory minimum for drug offenders will be lowered. Is this true? Where can I find information regarding bills and laws currently en route to being passed?

What are you Republican or an optimistic druggy?
Obama’s trying to lower them simply because it affects minorities at a very disproportionate rate.
Problem here is whites are like yo brah, are you seriously trying to help the races we’ve worked so hard to indirectly oppress? This is what happens when you have a bunch of old white men interpreting the constitution… I’ll remind you none of which the constitution mentions.
Don’t agree? In California 5 grams of crack is equal to 50 grams of powder, if that’s not enough proof I don’t know what is.
It is often decisions are based off warm fuzzies generations ago rather then interpreting the actual constitution, crack being a prime example.

LAWYERS PLEASE HELP! According to this letter from the prosecuting attny., how much time is my bf looking at?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 10, 2010
First of all, my boyfriend has only had a DUI at age 18 which I don’t think went on his permenant record. He is now 33. He became a heroin addict and is being charged (I think) w/ stealing 2 checks from his former employer and cashing them. The amount totaled around $750. He was charged with 2 Class C Felonies. A year later, he stole some merchandise item from another employer. I believe it was valued around $250. This was a Class D Felony. This is the letter from the prosecuting attorney to his lawyer:
Dear Mr. ________,
In an attempt to resolve the above referenced matter, I can propose the following plea offer. The defendant would plead guilty to as charged to Count 1, Forgery, as a Class C Felony. He would be sentenced to (8) years in the IN Dept. of Corrections. Two (2) years of said sentence would be suspended and the defendant (MY BOYFRIEND) would be placed on probation for (2) years. The defendant willl be ordered to pay court costs and restitution to the victims in both counts under Cause Numbers____ and restitution to victim anunder cause number_________. The defendant may petition the court to modify his sentence to work release or GPS after serving 1/2 of the executed sentence. Upon sentencing, Count II in, Cause Cause No. __________ and Cause No._________ shall be dismissed.
PLEASE DISCUSS THIS MATTER WITH YOURR CLIENT AND ADVISE AT YOUR EARLIEST POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY.
My boyfriend obviously would have never done any of this had it not been for heroin. I am NOT saying he doesn’t deserve time (HE DOES) but this seems very harsh for someone who never had a record until recently.
He already has done 2 1/2 months in jail (where he is now) and was on tether for 3 months after the first arrest as a condition of his bond. He does not have any money and cannot afford the best lawyer. Nor can his lawyer suggest a rehab because my bf doesn’t have the money for rehab. I believe he deserves a year in JAIL but no time in prison.
My main question is what is he really looking at here????
THANKS!
My father has end stage liver disease – how much time does he have left?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 10, 2010
My father is 53 years old and has just been diagnosed with end stage liver disease. Unknown to the family, he had been diagnosed with Hepatitis C nearly 10 years ago and never sought treatment. He was in ICU on a ventilator and bleeding from his nose and mouth for about a week, he is now at home. His abdomen is very swollen (he looks 9 months pregnant), and his bloodwork and ammonia levels are all out of whack. When he was in the hospital, they said in order to be put on the list for a liver transplant he had to be alcohol free for 6 months. He can’t be put on the list because the doctors said he doesn’t have 6 months left to live, but this is the only sort of time frame we’ve been given. I moved out of state in February and it is hard for me to get up there to visit him, as it’s either a 14 hour drive or a very expensive plane ticket. I just wish I could know how much time he has left. Any input or help at all is much appreciated . . . feel free to email me as well. Thanks.
FYI – it has been about 3 weeks since his initial diagnosis.
How much will 0bama and the Dems receive in kickbacks from the Insurance Industry?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 6, 2010
Isn’t that all this bill accomplishes…..forcing Americans to buy insurance from the very same companies we want reformed?
How does that solve the problem?
And how much did the Insurance Industry have to pay to get a law passed forcing all of us to buy their policies even though we’ve been complaining about them for years?
Sort of like reforming alcoholics by requiring them to buy the cheaper “house brands,” isn’t it?
Why aren’t drugs legal, when there is so much money to be saved and made?

From a business stand point, you’re looking at a market potentially as large and profitable as the tobacco or alcohol industries.
From a social stand point, you’re looking ending victimless crime and criminals.
From a financial stand point, less criminals means less inmates, less inmates means prison funding, less funding means less tax.
Less criminals also means less enforcement (ei. DEA & drug task forces), which means even lower taxes.
From a legal standpoint you’re looking at laws similar to those in place for alcohol and tobacco.
Everybody wins.
how much does a therapist make?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 3, 2010
Therapist — “Therapist” is another name for “counselor.” Therapists are people who use counseling to treat mental, emotional and nervous illnesses. Counseling is also called “psychotherapy.” Therapists can be psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers or other professional counselors trained in mental health.
Psychiatrist — A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who treats mental illnesses. He or she has a medical degree. A psychiatrist has a medical license to practice psychiatry. Psychiatry is the study of how to identify, treat and prevent mental illnesses. A psychiatrist is the only type of counselor who can order medications. Other counselors work with psychiatrists to decide if a patient needs medications. Psychiatrists can treat many mental illnesses if they have the right training. Often they treat people with severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia.
Psychologist — A psychologist has a doctorate or master’s degree and additional training to diagnose and treat a wide variety of emotional and other psychological problems. A person must be certified and licensed by the State of Ohio to call himself or herself a “psychologist.”
Social workers — Social workers are trained to provide individual, couple, family and group counseling services. In addition, some social workers may be trained to help with crisis situations, neglect, emotional and physical abuse, welfare needs, legal issues and other problems. Most social workers have master’s degrees.
Marriage and family therapists — These counselors are trained to treat couples or families. They can be psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers and other trained mental health care providers. Treatments for drug and alcohol addiction often include counseling for family members. A counselor who treats families and couples may also treat individuals.

Why is alcohol illegal and marijauna not when Alcohol is the cause of much more deaths and crime. Stupid?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on June 29, 2010
Some studies suggest that near 50% of inmates in prison were intoxicated at the time they commited their crime.
Obviously drunk driving is a leading killer.
I’m not saying that alcohol should be illegal but since it is known to be much much more detrimental and harmful it’s unusual that marijuana is the one that is illegal.

How much alcohol is required to be fatal for an alcoholic?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on June 26, 2010
How much alcohol is required to be fatal for an alcoholic? At 6’0 weighing in at 11 stones. How many bottles of everclear, would someone need down to die or end up in hospital? It’s 95% alcohol.
Or another comparison, how many large bottles of %40 vodka?
I would probably get drunk on one bottle of everclear.
Been known to drink 4 large bottles of vodka and pass out lol
Tried the site. Says I should be dead by now.
About 20 pints of 7.5% cider. Not even merry yet.

How much ice is required to cool a 12.0 fluid oz drink from 75F to 35F?

When ice melts, it absorbs 0.33 kJ per gram. How much ice is required to cool a 12.0 fluid ounce drink from 75°F to 35°F, if the heat capacity of the drink is 4.18 J/g·°C? (Assume that the heat transfer is 100% efficient.)

Please any information you may have would be greatly appreciated! Please keep my pup in your prayers.
I have physical and pretty much legal custody of my son. His father is an alcoholic and wont to go to rehab..?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on February 6, 2010
We have no formal or court ordered custody agreement, only a child support judgement. I have decided that until his father gets professional help for his alcoholism, that I will not allow him to take him from where we live, back to his home. He can only come here and visit with him. If he pursues this in court, do I have a right to request he have only be allowed visitation in my son’s primary home (mine). It doesn’t necessarily have to be supervised, just away from the alcohol.
Aside from his alcoholism, he and I are probably as close as people can be without being together. We both love our son very much, and care for eachother very deeply. I have no problem with him being in my home, thats not the issue, I just don’t want his son growing up around a drunk. I don’t want him to have a lifetime of dissapointments because his father can’t get his act together. He hasn’t been a threat as of yet, but who knows…it can only get worse if he doesn’t get professional help.
Most imporantly I’m not interested in more child support (although it would be nice, $400 a month doesn’t go far when you’re paying for private school). I am also not interested in keeping him from seeing his son. My main priority and concern is protecting my son from what could happen, and how it will affect his emotional well being having an alcoholic father. Other than that he’s a good person, very intellegent, just a drunk.
I’m not interesting in initiating a court case because I’m basically the one calling the shots now and if he’s interested in going against what I am saying, then he’ll have to initiate it. But I’m sure deep down he knows I am right, and wont pursue it because he knows he doesn’t have a leg to stand on.
