that in accordance with the official code of GA.40-11-5 My car has been declared abandoned and subject to a lien for redemption fees due. the letter goes on to state my rights ? responsibilities to prevent the person/company recovering and declaring this vehicle abandoned from seeking a court order to sell at public auction for fees due are basically 1- disclaim ownership by sighing where indicated and returning letter to listed company 2-I have the right to pay their fee 5.00 and all related fees
3-request a hearing to determine the validity of the person/company recovering described vehicle. Also says to request a hearing I must notify them & magistrate court in writing ! I No longer live there However my brother still does. The car was parked in the parking spot assigned to the condo in which we lived. The Listed date of recovery is FRI AUG 12 2011 Date declared abandoned listed as MON SEPT 26 2011.I just singed for the letter yesterday SEPT 19th. any and all assistance regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated.

after my Minor Consumption of alcohol Operating a Motor Vehicle, when i was nineteen, the judge orderd Victims impact panel, alcohol assestment, fees and community service i was to report back with all this done but when i went back i only had a fraction of the fees paid with none of the orders complete so he gave me another court date to come back with the victims impact pannel complete, but i flew to alaska to support my girlfriend with the birth of our child, as a nineteen year old i only had 200 in my pocket in a another state. Should i write a letter? will it help? what do you think the judge might do
am i looking at jail time?

Best answer:

Answer by Nightrider
That can be touchy. Judging the time elements and lack of response in the first part, the Judge is probably considering you a scoff law. Yes, it will help knowing everything has since been completed, but waiting two years is the part that will hurt.

As far as the letter, it is all up to the interpretation by the Judge. Perception is absolute in something of this nature. If you feel compelled to put this in writing, I would seriously suggest getting profession legal help in writing it out. It would be worthwhile to pay an attorney or paralegal to help draft the terminology so it will be perceived in a proper frame of mind.

Best of luck and I hope you can find this useful

Question by mamaghost2001: Is it appropriate to send Court Judge a letter regarding his decisions?
Judge wants to send my teen with Conduct disorder to Residential treatment center 300 miles away from my home. He plans on his decision next month. I found a Residential center that my insurance will pay 100%, and 38 miles away. Would it be appropriate to send Judge a letter informing him that I’ve decided to place her in a different RTC than what he may order? My child is in serious need of treatment, and her placement could occur 5 days before his decision. I’m not wanting to step on his toes per say, but his idea of RTC will not allow for my participation in her recovery due to distance. I’m putting in urgent calls to her probation officer, and she’s not returning my calls. But in court she tells the Judge that my child is high on her list. But she’s not high enough when I place urgent callls for her to return my call. I’m not indigent, and I don’t need the state to pay for the mental health of my child. What should I do? Am I wrong for overstepping his choice?

Best answer:

Answer by Mysterious
If he is 300 miles away the lesson will be lurned better. I think the point is he is sending him far away for he doesn’t always get mom comfort. He has to learn has to exsept consiquenses

First of all, my boyfriend has only had a DUI at age 18 which I don’t think went on his permenant record. He is now 33. He became a heroin addict and is being charged (I think) w/ stealing 2 checks from his former employer and cashing them. The amount totaled around $750. He was charged with 2 Class C Felonies. A year later, he stole some merchandise item from another employer. I believe it was valued around $250. This was a Class D Felony. This is the letter from the prosecuting attorney to his lawyer:

Dear Mr. ________,

In an attempt to resolve the above referenced matter, I can propose the following plea offer. The defendant would plead guilty to as charged to Count 1, Forgery, as a Class C Felony. He would be sentenced to (8) years in the IN Dept. of Corrections. Two (2) years of said sentence would be suspended and the defendant (MY BOYFRIEND) would be placed on probation for (2) years. The defendant willl be ordered to pay court costs and restitution to the victims in both counts under Cause Numbers____ and restitution to victim anunder cause number_________. The defendant may petition the court to modify his sentence to work release or GPS after serving 1/2 of the executed sentence. Upon sentencing, Count II in, Cause Cause No. __________ and Cause No._________ shall be dismissed.

PLEASE DISCUSS THIS MATTER WITH YOURR CLIENT AND ADVISE AT YOUR EARLIEST POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY.

My boyfriend obviously would have never done any of this had it not been for heroin. I am NOT saying he doesn’t deserve time (HE DOES) but this seems very harsh for someone who never had a record until recently.

He already has done 2 1/2 months in jail (where he is now) and was on tether for 3 months after the first arrest as a condition of his bond. He does not have any money and cannot afford the best lawyer. Nor can his lawyer suggest a rehab because my bf doesn’t have the money for rehab. I believe he deserves a year in JAIL but no time in prison.

My main question is what is he really looking at here????

THANKS!

Back in 1995 I used to sell weed in order to survive, I caught a case, which I fought for years before I decided to take the probation. My life has changed since then and I do not live that life anymore. In December I found out my daughter was molested by her father and tried drinking my problems away. My probation found out of my alcohol use and ordered me to get into treatment and complete it by a certain date. I was evaluated and treatment was not recommended, but I am ordered to do it anyways. My insurance will not pay for it without it recommending that I need it. I am on the Verge of homelessness if I do not find a job and a new apartment right away. Also i do not have my authorization for daycare to put my kids in, and time is something I just do not have right now in order to do what they say in there time frame. I can find a way to do so just not before June, but they want it NOW. I have to meet with probation next week and would like to have my letter stating I have completed treatment.

I know I should be good at this since I’m applying for a writer/copy editor internship, but it is so nerve racking knowing that I will be judged based on what I say and how I say it. The place I’m applying is an organization for urban renewal and redevelopment, which is something I am incredibly passionate about. I’m not studying urban politics because my school doesn’t offer this program, but I am invested to writing about these issues and I’m not exaggerating or trying to butter up the reader by speaking to these interests (though I’m afraid I may have gotten off-track since its for a writing position). I repeat myself a couple times, trying to figure out the best wording and construction. I really need help, and need to just get this out already. Thing is, I sound like an amateur in this letter, and I am, but I am driven and an enthusiastic student, I know I can do this well and improve given the chance. Here’s what I’m working with:
:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my interest in the writer/copy editor internship position at _____ I am currently working towards a bachelor degree in English from the University of _____ and I believe my writing and editing skills make me an excellent candidate for the internship position. I am confident in my ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines and given the opportunity to demonstrate my writing skills, I will prove an asset to the organization. I have enclosed my resume for you to review.
In addition to my English coursework, I see the internship at ____ as an opportunity to am eager to intern at an organization, where I can utilize my skills in writing, editing, research and critical analysis, while working for an organization that is committed to urban renewal and innovative social change.
In addition to my studies in English, I gained invaluable experience writing and collaborating on urban sustainability and revitalization projects during my time volunteering for the ____. My writing and editing responsibilities at the community development corporation ranged from note-taking to compiling letters and funding proposals. While negotiating the political, social and economic dynamics of grassroots organizing, I became committed to writing about social change and urban issues.
As my resume indicates I have tremendous passion for efforts that promotes rehabilitation and urban revitalization. My background in urban planning and development and my writing experience and education compliment the requirements of the writer/copy editor position as well as the organization’s larger directive. I am dedicated to work that requires rigorous effort, thoughtful vision and open-minded creativity. I am a strong advocate of urban renewal and sustainability projects and see great potential in creative planning and design implementation.
Given my academic pursuits, communication strengths and writing experience, I believe I have the qualifications and energetic drive that make me an excellent candidate for the internship position. The confluence of my passion urban social issues and my enthusiastic appreciation of language and my experience writing and editing have pushed me to think critically and write objectively. as part of the collaborative process or urban revitalization.

Thank you for considering my resume and I look forward to your reply,
