Question by ncrawler1: What show just parodied Law & Order?
A couple days ago, I saw a show that had parodies of the Law & Order characters, with Det. Briscoe constantly commenting on his alcoholism and his ex-wives. Any idea what show this was? It’s killing me!!!!!

False. But even if it were true what has the mother in law got to do with Sarah Palin? Guilty by associations? President Elect Barack Obama has a lot of associates that are less then stellar

Because I was once homeless myself, I am committed to helping others achieve personal growth and take an interest in their own well-being. I find that helping others is rewarding in itself and as long as I can make a positive difference in someone’s life, I will know that I have contributed to that person’s efforts to change his or her life. As a result of my personal experience, I understand the constant despair and frustration experienced by those who find it challenging to cope with everyday life and problems. I am also convinced that increasing one’s own sense of empowerment can make the difference between a future of despondency and one filled with hope.
I grew up in a single parent family household with my mother, with whom I frequently had arguments. When I found out I was going to have a baby, my relationship with my mother deteriorated further. There was too much family conflict so I left. Eventually, I found myself homeless. Needless to say, being homeless was a constant struggle. Months later, I found a shelter on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles, which was the worst part of the experience for me. Here I was- homeless, about to have a baby, with no money and no place to live. I felt alone and felt that nobody cared about my situation. At the shelter, I met a social worker, and she helped ease my concerns. I told her of my situation with my mother and she was there for me when I needed someone to talk to. She encouraged me to resolve my conflict with my mother and go back home. When I moved back home, I made a sincere effort to heal my relationship with my mother. Six months later, I found a job as a counselor, working with adolescents who have experienced similar situations to mine. I was able to save enough money to move into my first apartment. From this experience, I learned that I had the ability to persevere through my most challenging times. I developed empathy for people struggling with everyday problems, and, most of all, I learned the importance of having support from my family. Overall, social workers make a remarkable difference in overcoming life’s challenges.
I am applying to the Master’s in Social Work Program because it is my goal to help others to embrace their inner potential in an effort to make a positive life transition. I began my preparation to achieve my personal goal while I worked at Harbor View Adolescent Center, a level-14 group home facility, as a youth counselor. My primary work responsibility was to serve as a positive role model for adolescents 12 to 18. The adolescents had backgrounds, such as being homeless and victims of physical and sexual abuse. Others had problems with drug and alcohol abuse, depression, and the criminal justice system. At times, the position was extremely stressful but I discovered that I had the ability to connect with the adolescents and develop strong emotional ties with them. I focused on several areas of treatment, including their social skills, coping skills, and independent living skills. My main ambition was to help them to build their self-esteem and improve their sense of security. As a youth counselor, I have gained valuable experience in listening to adolescents and helping them make positive decisions in order to improve the quality of the their lives. Overall, my career goal is to help vulnerable and oppressed individuals because I want to ensure that they have access to effective services, quality resources, and much needed guidance.
Most importantly, I want to become a professional social worker because I want to do everything that is within my power to enhance human well-being and help meet the needs of all people in my community, especially its most vulnerable members. This is my professional calling to do all that I can to make these people whole, empowering them so that one day many could even become be happy productive individuals.

Just wondering????
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 9, 2010
Our son currently lives with his other mother in another state (that is soon to change). He is currently not residing with her because she is in rehab. He is staying with her fiance. So my questions where do we send our child support check to? Do I ask the courts? We are currently filing for custody (which we had before…long story) and it will be granted probally next month. In the mean time though so we are abiding by the current court order where do we send the money? I think it should go to who is taking care of him. If we send it to her how do we know it will be used for him since he is not with her? Please I do not need any lectures this has been a long and horrible process anyway. I am just looking for advice and what we should do? Maybe I should just ask my attorney….Anyway I am mostly wondering if anyone agrees with me. I don’t think we should send it to her because he is not with her. What do you think?
Thank you I think I will ask our attorney.
My best friend is obsessed with my Brother who just got out of Prison and is currently in rehab.?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on July 5, 2010
My Brother has had a very hard life, ending up in prison for drugs. My best friend was supporting his drug habbit and did anything she could to keep him with her. Finally like all drug addicts he got caught and went to prison. I have always reached out to help him in any way I could. I forgave my best friend for what she did to. Now 3 years later and two kids later for my friend, he is out of Prison and went into a rehab program with my help. He is doing great now. Yesterday I over heard a phone call from her to him saying she was gonna “bring him clothes” so she can see him. Did i mention that she is engaged and has a 1 month old baby with heart problems? I very fimly told her to drop the clothes off with me and I would take them to him. I told her to leave him alone for her sake and his. She is not speaking to me now. a week ago she asked me to be the godmother to her baby, and now shes willing to screw over anyone to get back with him. Which he is only going to use her. Any advice?
what is isf is it like is prison or is it a rehab program or is it just some kind of rehab program?

I am in the middle of a divorce. My wife, who just got out of rehab was given temporary custody of our baby.r
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on May 4, 2010
I am fighting for full custody, due to wife’s addictions. She’s leaving our baby, who is now 22 months, with my wife’s mother. This woman had performed such acts of abuse on her own 3 children that they were placed in foster homes a number of times. We’re talking about tying kids up, putting a gun to their heads, and threatening to kill them. She also took part in wife’s rape before she was 12 years old. When we went to court for temporary custody we did not have wife’s psychiatric records. We now have these. My wife’s records reveal all of the aforementioned. My attorney says there’s nothing we can do at this time. She said that since my wife is the custodial parent, that she can leave baby with whomever. Does anyone have any suggestions about any actions I might take. I have begged to allow me to keep her, but she says she will not deviate from the court order, which only allows me 1st and 3rd weekends. It also states that I may have child at any other time agreed upon by us. Thanks
Why is he “stringing me along” when it would hurt less if he would just DUMP me?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on April 27, 2010
My 16-year-old friend was sent to “intensive outpatient” drug rehab for 4 weeks for marijuana addiction. He was also sent into foster care at the same time for 3 months.
He “gets out” of foster care in 3 weeks on sept 19th.
He says his foster mom is “very anal” and wont let him hang out or call me since im in my late 20′s.
However, he started dating a 23-year-old ‘recovering’ crystal-meth addict whom he found from his drug-rehab group therapy sessions. His foster mom allows that relationship (sleepovers/sex intercourse) but not my relationship with him.
I’ve always been clean and sober.
A wise man once said: “Even prisoners are allowed to make-and-receive phone calls”; however, he says hes not allowed to see/call me until after foster care.
Why doesnt he just end it and dump me instead of playing games? The longer he throws out “hope” the more agonizing it is and it’s breaking my heart.
What hurts the most is that he’s allowed to hang out with other friends (his age) and I know that he could easily use one of their cell phones to call me if he really wanted to.
Again, so why doesnt he just dump me as a friend and remove me from his myspace?
I sent him an email on myspace this afternoon; however, when he logged on he added some new friends but didnt even bother to open up and read my email. So I know he saw my email that I sent and he made a conscious decison not to open it.
Maybe he will read it the next time he logs on, but obviouisly I’m no longer the priority I used to be.
I know that he’s bi-polar, but he’s taking meds to treat it, so he should still show me respect. He also has ADD, anxiety, fear of failure, and is a high school dropout, his parents never married and are split up, and he now works at mcdonalds.
When I went to see him at his work he basically acknowldged my presence for 5 seconds and then wouldnt come out to talk to me. He basically went in the back hiding.
My question is: Why doesnt he just tell me the truth about why he’s AVOIDING me and making himself distant? Why not just dump me as a friend so I dont go through all this heart brokenness?
Obviously, I care about him very much and he’s not giving 2 s*** anymore about how I feel.
He use to call ALL the time before he went to court-ordered rehab (they treatened him with jail) and foster care.
Do you think he will contact me when he “gets out of foster care” next month, or is he blowing me off because he has a new bf or some other reason?
He responded to my email last month, in capital letters, saying he “MISSES ME” and that we should “hang out when he gets out of foster care.”
Why is he stringing me along? I cant take it.
Why is he “stringing me along” when it would be EASIER if he just dumped me completely?

Did I do the right thing by calling the jail and telling them that an inmate’s son was just born?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on April 26, 2010
The guy can’t call anyone because everyone has that block so you can’t call collect. He is in jail for petty theft. It was really dumb on his part because he knew that his girlfriend could be having his baby anytime. It was 2-weeks early and unfortunately, his court date was tomorrow and they probably would have let him out.
ANYWAYS! I called the jail (it’s a small jail) and talked to a nice jailer and she told me that she’d relay the message that his little boy was born around midnight last night and is doing just fine! It’s his first baby. They are both friends of mine. I just hope that maybe this will be a MAJOR WAKE-UP CALL to him! Hopefully, someone taped it. I guess her mom and dad were with her. He does have a drug addiction (that’s why he stole). When I first met him, he was totally different. I think she should give him an ultimatum and if he won’t get help then get a restraining order but she LOVES him too much. She’s the prettiest, sweetest girl and she just turned 21. He’s going to be 29 and he’s tried to corrupt her. Maybe I’ll get some “MYOB” but I see myself in this girl 15 years ago (I’m 36). I was very pretty, had tons going for me, had very supportive parents, had everything I could want but I threw it away for drugs.
What Govt on Earth turn the citizens into gamblers + alcoholic + prison inmates just to create taxes & profit?

should we legalize all drugs or just cannabis, what do you think?
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on April 26, 2010
Prohibition does not prevent cannabis use by children or the mentally ill, the vulnerable populations whom we supposedly want to protect. Instead, cannabis prohibition makes it more difficult for parents, patients, society, doctors and law enforcement to control cannabis use.
The Drug War makes honest education about cannabis impossible, and leaves cannabis users marginalized in ways that make their lives more stressful.
This stress is unhealthy for everyone, but it is certainly most damaging to people with schizophrenia.
Cannabis prohibition is not merely a failure; it is a counterproductive fraud that is harming those whom we claim we want to protect.
There are currently more teens in treatment centers for marijuana in comparison to those admitted for alcohol.
Only an idiot would have to ask why alcohol is not the no#1 problem
after all alcohol is perfectly legal ( If you are 21.)
That is due to responsible people handling alcohol by way of the carding and id system.
Contraband markets make no age disgression.
Since the crackdown on tobacco there are 75% fewer teens trying or using tobacco.
However when it comes to cannabis and other illicit substances it’s a whole
other ball game.
Control, regulation and better education work prohibition, dose not.
Or as John Walters of the ondcp (Office for national drug control policy) calls it “ a war on drugs” (Sorry John but it’s true look at the Netherlands)
America loves a war even if it is on it’s own people.
One of several reason they don’t legalize drugs is not because of the harm of drugs,
But people would lose more money in the long run.
Some of the people behind the support of this irrational so called war are
The tobacco industry,
the alcohol and distilled spirit industry ( people simply don’t drink as much, or decide not to drink at all with cannabis meaning a decline in there sales.
The pharmaceutical corporations can not make money on whole or raw cannabis, but they can charge an arm and a leg for there synthetic Marinol (dronabinol) CIII.
The textile and paper industry would lose out from hemp production, sinse hemp dose not need to go through all the various processes that ordinary tree products would. Also it’s possible to get two harvest in one season.
However people don’t know the difference between industrial hemp and smokeable cannabis, yet they are able to distinguish between the two in other country’s like Germany, the UK , Netherlands and even Canada, but our `DEA agents are so dumb they cant tell the difference between a stalk and a bush.
Also people who have any knowledge of growing high quality cannabis will tell you that male plants should never be grown next to your high grade female plants,
(unless of course you want to pollinate for future seed production).
When it comes to farming hemp the males are left in tact to pollinate the females and produce as much seed as possible.
This would mean a seedy mess for the pot smoker to clean up and produce undesirable future generations of smokeable cannabis.
If anything, Hemp farming would be anti marijuana and would harm any outdoor pot farming within a one mile radius of any hemp farm.
The petroleum industry would also be affected, sinse almost everything that can be made from petroleum can be synthesized from hemp oil, everything from bio fuel to even plastics. If North America would use a third of it’s land for hemp production we could create enough bio fuel to supply an area the size of Canada.
Now also for a moment consider how many people are incarcerated over just cannabis who are currently in the prisons and jails.
If cannabis were legalized and all inmates serving time for cannabis were freed there would be an over abundance of empty cells, and millions of guards in this country would be no longer needed.
The prison building industry would almost be obsolete ( and if all drugs were legalized that would mean even more empty cells).
So the prison system must have some means of gaining more inmates.
Not to mention other areas such as treatment centers, probation.etc
or HIDTA high intensity drug traffic areas where money is fed in to law enforcement,
(they would miss there green $$$)
Drugs , not even alcohol are the cause of the fundamental ills of society, rather than checking people for the presence of drugs, they should first test people for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power.
