The polls chief is stating that the security apparatus under the control of the Defense Secretary (a US citizen and Presidential brother) is impeding the process and denying the Election Commissioner adequate resources to do his job.

As well as clear signs of vote rigging of about a million votes – this item has come to the for several times from government sources attempting last ditch efforts to “add 1 million votes” through internet polling and through false issuance of voting cards.

The responsibility of State Employees is to ensure that the the 17th Amendment is implemented so that you attain the rights to perform your job duties with modern levels of accountability where the Central Government is an active partner in constitutional protections instead of a dictating force against it.
There must be a restoration of law and respect of the law. We are in a stage that the due process of the 17th amendment is the saving grace of Sri Lanka. During times of conflict ordinary citizens and government employees had certain restrictions placed on them for the sake of national security and though national security is still a principle concern we must immediately take measures to ensure that the rights of citizens are not going to be continually trodden upon with National Security used as an excuse for government to harass citizens. Mahinda Rajapaksa had agreed to implement the 17th amendment to the constitution – being full aware that the the 13th amendment was a deemed a non-starter by the supreme court. Instead of doing so he has called for early elections and has had bands of thugs both involved in his government and imported into the country through his brothers invoke retaliatory tactics on the public.

Lake House seems to be getting continually rewarded for moving from media to transportation for breakiong the law.

Though the Election Commissioner does not have punitive powers the Supreme Court does and the actions of the IGP and Media should be fast tracked to the courts.

The peoples of Colombo should know that if there are not protections for the citizens in outlying areas peacefully enacting their RIGHT of franchise then there will also not be such rights for Colombo. After 30 years of terrorism we must gather and put in place law and order based on constitutional law and procedures barring the at will practices the dictated government during past hostilities.
VOTE FOR CHANGE – CHANGE THAT WAS OVERWHEMINGLY APPROVED BY PARLIAMENT-CHANGE THAT WAS REFUSED BY SEVERAL ADMINISTRATIONS INCLUDING THE RAJAPAKSE REGIME TO ENFORCE A CRIMINAL GOVERNMENT-VOTE FOR CHANGE THAT WILL BRING SRI LANKA THE PROMISE OF A FUTURE WITHOUT ARMED BANDS OF THUGS BREAKING INTO YOUR HOMES AND KILLING YOUR FAMILIES IN THE NAME OF FALSE DEMOCRACY. SEND RAJAPAKSA HOME AND INITIATE THE RECOVERY AND RESTRUCTURING PERIOD THAT IS NEEDED BY ALL COUNTRIES AFTER WAR.
I am not a politician – I am a Stateswoman and a major landholder asking all the peoples of my country to attain constitutional justice by voting for change and an end to impunity. Recovering the constitutional rights guaranteed under the 17th amendment for adequate disclosures to the public of what is being initiated on their behalf will help guarantee that government will not abuse powers by illegally holding onto such and there will not be a return to the past wide scale violences that has left up to a hundred thousand of our fellow countrymen dead in the past 30 years – Rajapakse is daily speaking of traitors to the country without acknowledging that his actions are most treacherous by not implementing the constitutional rights that protect ALL citizens and not just perpetuating a fiasco . Rao should know that her name has come up in some inconsistent dealings at CPC.

Can a judge award child support if the non custodial parent isn’t working?

Question by CaCO3Girl: Can a judge award child support if the non custodial parent isn’t working?
The short story without all the drama, is that my husband has this wonderful child, and he got custody of him from his ex, who after a 9 month court battle simply agreed to give my husband primary custody of the child so we wouldn’t get up in court and read into the record what a horrible person and mother she is. We had witnesses and teachers and other child care professionals that had interacted with both parties ready to say she was pretty much unfit, and the child belonged with us.

So, after all that our lawyer said that child support had to be awarded or the judge would never sign off on it. So, we asked for a week, and we pay all medical stuff and daycare. a week is not earth shattering but enough to get special treats or new shoes now and then. We really weren’t trying to be mean, but if child support had to be awarded we thought we were being pretty nice.

Well now the mom is coming back saying she only works 1-2 days a week, so she can’t pay that amount, and the judge never should have signed it based on the child support worksheet. She says if she works more than 1-2 days a week then she looses all of her government stuff like low income houseing and medicaid and food stamps….etc. she agreed to the order in court and the judge signed it, but now she says she doesn’t make enough to give that. Well it is set up through child support recovery, so we have no control over it.

So, I guess my question is, if we have to go back to court over this how will the judge look at it? Will he base what she should pay on minimum wage at 40 hours a week, or what she actually makes, considering she chooses not to work more.

Thoughts????

Idk, what the Judge would do… but is it really worth it? If she is that neglectful and terrible, do you really want to have to deal with her at all? 50 bucks a week isn’t that much, like you said. I think I would just forget about it and be glad I didn’t have to deal with her.

What rights does a father have if his name isn’t on the birth certificate?

I have a friend who has had his daughter for the last year after her mother abandoned her at his home in Minnesota. The mother has drug problems and was detained while in MN for trying to kill herself. She ended up in AZ in a rehab. The child is 8 years old and has already had 4 open heart surgeries trying to correct a problem due to drug use by the mother during the pregnancy. The mother also has a 19 year old son who was by her parents. The daughter had also been raised by the grandparents off and on whenever the mother didn’t feel like having her. K, as I will refer to the daughter, was not allowed to see her father unless he went back to a relationship with the mother, well he tried to work things out so he could be with K and the mother went to MN. She ended up leaving and had no contact with the father or K for almost the last year. The granparents also did not try to contact anyone. Last Friday the mother and grandparents went to MN and took the child while the father was working. They had the backing of the local police because the fathers name wasn’t on the birth certificate. They took her without taking any of her medications or anything. On a side note if he isn’t the father then why is Riverside County collecting court ordered child support from him? The grandparents did make a comment about her SSI money and such and it is sad that they seem to only want K for the money they can get. So if there is anyone who has any advice I can pass on it would be welcomed. The father is distraught and has no idea where they went or if he will see K again.
he does have a paternity test pending and no they were never married.

How do I file for child support if my son’s Father isn’t on the birth certificate?

He left me when I was pregnant to smoke dope. I didn’t know where he was when my son was born so I didn’t call him to come to the hospital, so he is not on the birth certificate.

I wasn’t going to ask for child support initially, because I don’t want him to have any custody over his son if he is high on meth 100% of the time he is awake. He begged and begged to meet his son, and when he was 4 months old I caved and gave him the chance… which he blew off to smoke dope.

Now, when I look at my son I’m pissed at him to no end, and I want child support. He doesn’t have a job so I’m not going to get any, but if he ever pulls his life back together he needs to contribute to the life of the child he made. He shouldnt just be allowed to knock up a dozen women while he roams the street getting high all day and night. He has another son in Cali who he walked out on 8 years ago. She filed for child support and he has to pay when he works.

He is not on the birth certificate… and I don’t want him awarded any custody because he’s always high… what are the steps I have to take to prove to a court he’s the Father, and to request he take a drug test if he wants visitation? I’d put money on it that he won’t even show to court. He was ordered to go to rehab in lieu of prison for violating his probation for getting caught shoplifting with dope on him, but he never went, so Im sure there is a warrant for him.

I also don’t have the slightest idea where he lives, so I don’t know how they’d serve him. Last I checked he was homeless and robbing people to pay for hotels so he could sell drugs out of them to have money to use them. What a winner right? His mom keeps me well updated, she and the rest of his fam are just as pissed at him as I am. She is the one who strongly insisted I file for child support.

I can’t afford a lawyer at all. So, I need to figure out what I need to do on my own and make it happen. I know absolutely nothing about how anything in family court is done. I live in Phoenix, AZ. Any advice you could give would be a major help. Thank you!

Why isn’t there a drunk driver registry? Or a manslaughter registry?

We have a sex offender registry, that parades these guys – Well what about the drunk driver that killed a family of 5 and is out of prison in 8 years on good behavior? How can we track them- alcoholism has an extremely high recidivism rate. Or what about the people that were convicted of manslaughter or murder but released form prison on parole? A murder could move in right next door and I would never know it!!

Hu,mmm – for that matter why don’t we just have a FELONY registry – to track ALL convicted felons????

In the United States, why isn’t alcohol required to have nutrition facts?

Every food you buy (except for produce) is required to have a nutrition facts label on the packaging. I’ve never seen soda, juice, milk, etc. without that label. So why is it that alcoholic beverages don’t have nutrition labels on them? (at least to tell you how many calories and all that?)

It’s a right to smoke, but isn’t it also a right for me not to pay for the medical bills of smokers?

I mean, we’re spending billions on medicaid, military, and federal workers to smoke and stay as healthy as possible. Charged for their maintenance because of a choice.

If I had a problem with alcohol as much as I had with tobacco, I’d be court ordered to rehab based on health reasons and public opinion, a danger to myself and others. A majority of the public is saying no to cigarettes. While at the same time the tobacco companies won’t give out any signifigant information on how second hand smoke effects other people.
Yay! Great, you pay your medical bills. What about the people who don’t? Does that make them exempt from smoking? Freedom is not free!
