Al Gore III pleads guilty to DUI (among other charges) and got a court ordered drug diversion program…?

Question by moon_flower_unicorn_power: Al Gore III pleads guilty to DUI (among other charges) and got a court ordered drug diversion program…?
was justice served, or is this just another case of the elite (Limbaugh, N. Bush, Hilton, Gore III, etc…) getting off easy ?

I don’t believe Rush ever had a DUI. Gore will be like Lindsey Lohan, he will step on his crank again.

I am okay, but my family is messed up. How can I not feel guilty for not wanting to be around them?

Question by Crazy_Fool: I am okay, but my family is messed up. How can I not feel guilty for not wanting to be around them?
So I am doing alright in life. Married two kids, stay at home Mom, Some mental health problems here and there but mostly good.
My sister is a needle user(drug user)and has a son. She wasn’t always this way, but she was always messed up. Recently she tried a dry out center and I told her to come and stay at my house during her recovery. She ended up using drugs again right away. I understood that would happen but the lying drove me insane and it was like she was using our home as a flophouse.
Her son has mostly been in my Moms care(and my Dad Too)and he would see his Dad when he was home(he works out of the country). His Dad and I communicate quite regularly and I have shared information with him about how his son is being raised. He gives my sister 00 per month.
My Mom and Dad are both Alcoholics and their business(a small town hotel/bar)is going down the tubes. My Sisters’ sons’ DadPhoned her today and said that he was getting court ordered custody and that he was going to pick him up from my Mom and that would be it. My Mom was very upset and phoned me. I told her I was sorry I couldn’t comfort her but I really did side with my sisters’ ex. My Mom said she knew he had to take him but she didn’t want it to be like this. It is all so unhealthy. My sister is going to be SOL, because her income was dependant on her having custody. I don’t feel sorry for her. My huband and I were willing to help her get back on her feet, but with all the lies and everything I don’t think I can mentally handle it. It has caused me a lot of stress and anxiety. I am also feeling that my mood is changing and I fear that it is because of everything that is going on.
I have always been burdened with trying to fix my family’s problems, but I realize that nothing I suggest or try to do will help them unless they help themselves.
What can I do/think so that I don’t feel guilty about not wanting to be involved? Was I right to tell my Mom the truth about how I feel?
Hi Dede. Thanks for your reply. I am pretty much the only Christian in my family. I have been praying for them my whole life. Not kidding. From the moment I could pray, I was praying. The whole one side of my family has been praying for them too. Prayer is a wonderful thing, but unless you have been through the termoil and struggles that our family has been through(and others like us)then I highly doubt that you know of what you speak. I am sorry if I offend you as I do not mean to.

this is a good reason to wake up at night and pray or take sometime and intentionally pray for your family.

Some things may look normal on the outside but has a deeper spiritual meaning…..if you pray, your family will be delivered in JESUS name.

You have tried with your own strength all your life…give it to JESUS now and watch HIM turn things around. Dont give up on family…be wise and deal with them with knowledge.

After pleading guilty to an underage possession when am I allowed to tell the judge my corrections?

I got an underage possession charge and I cant afford a lawyer, absolutely 100% cant afford him. The courts have the evidence to find me guilty so I might as well go ahead and plead guilty but I am currently doing a bunch of stuff to stop my alcoholism. At what point am I allowed to tell the judge about this?

ex boyfriend is homless now…feeling guilty?

Ok so, me and my ex dated for 3 years. He wasnt homeless at the time, but ill get into that later. im gonna say this flat out, he was an asshole to me. He stole my credit cards, and used them..he used my car without permission usually when i was sleeping, wrecked three of them as well. He cheated on me and was physically and verbally and mentally abusive. i provided him with a roof for alomst 2 years, food and supported his alcoholism, and i took care of his daughter for 3 years as well. I am only 21 and he is 29…we met when i was 18…this is actually quite a long story with alot of details. so ill make it short… He was living with a girlfriend for about 6 months. She kicked him out, so he moved back into his parents house. He was supposed to go to court for a felony warrent that he has, but he didnt go so his parents kicked him out, so he went to a friends house and then HE kicked him out as well. We talked on and off while he was at the last friends house, but he recently got a hold of me on facebook (he was at the library) and told me he was homeless and that he was sleeping under a bridge. Why the hell do i feel so guilty? I cant take him in…i know i cant, and i wont, i just feel so damn guilty, or am i a heartless bitch for not giving him a temporary roof over his head and helping him out? i was crying all day because the thought of him sleeping under a bridge makes me sad, even though he was such an ass to me. His status on facebook was “i wanted someone to talk to but all i heard was silence” That hit me really hard, im crying now as we speak, i dont know what to do. I know he was a f****** ass to me and everyone else, but i need something to make the guilty sad feeling go away, i need some advice. i sent him a long msg on facebook explaining why i couldnt take him in, i told the police i didnt know where he was,(theyre looking for him) and if they catch him over my house, thats big trouble for me, i told him in the facebook email that he needs to turn himself in, then hell have food and a roof over his head…i dont know what to do… :(

Feeling guilty – I turned in my brother for violating his probation?

and I feel very guilty. He is sitting in jail now.

He is a severe alcoholic and got a DUI about 6 months ago. He was also required to go to treatment and do 200 hours of community service as well as 2 years probation and he was to refrain from using any/all drugs and alcohol.

He hasn’t been going to treatment and continues to drink so I called the police and informed them.

How do I deal with the guilt?

I know it is for his own benefit – he has a blood platelet count of 35 and one fall could cause him to bleed out. I just feel so damn guilt for turning him in

Should I plead not guilty to an open container charge?

It was college game day at UF (Gainesville, FL). There were about 100,000 people outside the stadium drinking. I am probably the most responsible of any of them and I probably drink the least. I’m the guy who takes people home and makes safe decisions that probably keeps half my friends alive. But I’m also the guy that got pulled aside and hit with an open container for carrying a beer in a cup. The cop called me and my friend over, asked for IDs, and started walking towards his car. We followed and I poured the remaining 2 sips in my cup out on my way there. I don’t even think he noticed. He just started writing. He never smelled what was in my cup, never tasted it, and didn’t breathalyzer me or anything. He didn’t even ask me what it was. For all he knew, it was non-alcoholic beer or root beer. He wrote on the form that I admitted it was beer even though we never had any conversation or anything about it. I signed it though because I wasn’t trying to argue with a cop and go to jail and it said “you’re not admitting guilt by signing this”. He said “technically, you’re under arrest.” It was a written arrest, with a mandatory court appearance. He told me it’s no big deal and will only be like a $10 or $12 fine. He even said I can just make a call and pay the small amount and it’s nothing that will affect me or be on my record. I’m pretty sure he was lying about the fine and the record thing. Should I plea not guilty, what will happen if I do that, and how can I fight this? What will happen if I go with the argument that he has no proof of what was in my cup?
