What is the law for evicting someone in Indiana? Is a 30 day notice necessary if drugs were found?

Question by Nico: What is the law for evicting someone in Indiana? Is a 30 day notice necessary if drugs were found?
I have a rental home in Indiana and find myself in a situation where I need to evict the current tenants. I don’t have the lease agreement on hand today, it’s at home. So I don’t know off hand whether I made any special stipulation such as “if drugs are found on the premises you are consider in breach of the lease and will have 24 hours to vacate the premises.” What is the time frame required by law if I don’t have something like that in the lease?

Best answer:

Answer by smedrik
If it is not a violation of the lease you have no grounds to evict. This is especially if you were not supposed to be in the unit in the first place. (Landlords legally have to give 24 hours notice prior to entering)

If you do in fact have grounds to evict the process takes anywhere from 30-90 days depending upon how cooperative your tenants are.

Applying for Law Enforcement Position: Drugs Narcotics Use Section..?

Question by JP: Applying for Law Enforcement Position: Drugs Narcotics Use Section..?
Im not the most perfect person but have changed my life alot i literaly hate doing bad stuff i went threw fazes yes like i think every other person on this planet . but my question pertains to me applying for a law enforcement position in NC and im prior military. in the Drugs Narcotics used section : i listed i smoked im gunna be honest probably 8 Times in my life time and last time i smoked was in Feb 2007 i was getting laid off and had a bad set of friends who i eventually stoped hanging out with becuause of how much they wanted me to use drugs and other thing ive done is Cocaine i used it back in 1997 or 1998 one time 2 the most my friends father gave me some.
but ok ;
Marijuana used 8 times last time 2007
Cocaine used 2 times last time 1997 or 1998
NonPrescription Medicine: 10 times my ( in the army we get prescibed tylenol and well if you have a head ache yea we get offered 1 or 2 tylenol by a buddy )

those of you police officer recruiters and veterans on the force could you please be honest and tell me if what i have done is bad? would i be a potential hire or non hire?

Best answer:

Answer by J.W.
Policies pertaining to applicants and past drug use vary depending on the department. Some police departments wouldn’t consider you due to your use of cocaine. Some would still consider you since it has been so long since you’ve last used it. Some departments wouldn’t consider you because it has been less than 5 years since you’ve used marijuana. The Tylenol probably won’t be much of an issue. Getting police officer jobs is becoming more and more competitive. There are likely to be other applicants with similar qualifications as you or better qualifications than you that haven’t used illegal drugs, especially cocaine. I would wait a couple more years before you apply. Spend that time improving your resume. Get some college if you don’t have any.

If it was ordered and refused, that is contempt of court. Jail or heavy fine would be involved. Then it would be ordered again. If refused, the same. Over and over until it is done to the courts satisfaction.

Question by Neuron: The law that prohibited the marketing of new drugs unless they were adequately tested to demonstrate safety?
The law that prohibited the marketing of new drugs unless they were adequately tested to demonstrate safety was the….

A. Controlled Substances Act of 1970.
B. Federal Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906.
C. Poison Prevention Packaging Act of 1970.
D. Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938.

Best answer:

Answer by Kevin Swiss
glad i went to the FDA to learn this….:)

safety is D

the problem is that it JUST had to be safe. It didnt have to work.:) That came in 1962 with Kefauver Harris Amendment about Thalidomide.

Food and Drug act of 1906 required some truth in labeling, without much else. Around 1937 was the sulfanilamide diethylene glycol poisonings in the US which caused the act of 1938 .

Q&A: How to avoid forced drug treatment? I haven’t used drugs since march! It’s October now.?

Question by The fabulous one: How to avoid forced drug treatment? I haven’t used drugs since march! It’s October now.?
I’m on probation. Judge ordered drug and alcohol evaluation, mental health evaluation, ETC. I haven’t used drugs in over 7 months, and the drug and alcohol dirtbags want me to come for treatment anyway. My crime wasn’t even drug related. I have phsycological problems as well. I’ve maintained being clean for so long, I’m not worried about their testing. I don’t like to remember the past, because a lot of stuff deeply depresses me, and some stuff will affect me for my entire life. I have difficulty talking to people due to traumas from childhood. THIS IS TORTURE. There must be some kind of law against this. I’ve heard from other people that they are there for the money. My medicaid expired, I was also on food stamps and cash assistance, and i’m not reapplying because I want to go back to work. I don’t want to live on the system forever. Now I have to give them money out of my pocket that I don’t have, and I don’t even have a problem. I’m trying so hard to overcome a lot of issues, and these people are making things 10 times harder. Are there any laws or ways out of this? Sources and links would be very helpful as well.
wayne county pennsylvania. Or should i say HELLVANIA.
I’m being forced to talk to their drug counselors. i’m already going to counseling with a counselor I feel comfortable with. I’m facing my problems, but not with these people. As long as I don’t use drugs, and my system is clean upon testing, that’s what counts. Many times I tell them, “I don’t remember.” Actually, as long as I don’t relapse, which I know I won’t, I don’t have to tell them anything, do I?

Best answer:

Answer by Lunaria
Sorry but I think you are stuck in their system now which means you have to play by their rules. I know it sucks and the classes they usually offer are a joke anyways. About your past, you do need to face it at some point where you get to a place that talking about it is not so hard. If you don’t something could trigger it all to come back and haunt you again. But back to the main question, just do the classes and participate as much as possible so maybe they will shorten the length you have to do them.
