I got stabbed and now the perp is doing time, he owes me restitution $?

Question by 411 Sponge: I got stabbed and now the perp is doing time, he owes me restitution $?
I was stabbed in the abdomen a couple of years ago trying to help a lady this guy was trying to murder, I managed to save her life but got stabbed in the process…I ended up having surgery, got stapled up and made a quick full recovery. The guy that stabbed me went to prison, he only got 4 years because I couldn’t make it to court because I moved out of state. He was also ordered to pay me 00.00 in restitution… So when he gets released how will I ever get that money? Being I live out of state of the incident… would the judicial system make any effort to contact me or send me the $ or are my chances slim of ever seeing that $?

Probably are slim of getting it, but if the court ordered it and he doesn’t pay he could have another warrant out for him.

Are we doing the right thing by not talking to my sister?

She gave birth to her 3rd child last week, and she has been court ordered not to have any type of contact with her other two children because she is a crack addict and an alcoholic. In her 8th month of pregnancy, we had found out she was smoking crack and drinking while she was pregnant. Me and my other sister gave her the choice to either commit herself to treatment, or we would commit her ourselves. She has been in and out of rehab for a couple of years and has been smoking crack for years. We have contacted all the proper authorities and nothing was done. She was allowed to leave the hospital with that baby. My family and I will have no contact with her at all. She was supposed to go into sober housing after she had the baby, and instead moved to a bad side of town in an over crowded apt. It is hard not to see the baby, but we are hoping she will be taken from her. Are we doing the right thing?

daughter’s father has visitation rights, but he is drinking and doing drugs and I cannot prove it.?

My daughter’s father and I have a court ordered custody arrangement. The father was an alcoholic and drug user, and after he completed rehab I agreed to let him have visitations. We live in different states so his family picks her up and takes her to there home hours away. We recently became on ‘good terms’ and he began telling me scary things via the phone (shooting someone up with meth, drinking alcohol, living with a guy who uses drugs, how his mother is messed up on alcohol and xanax.) I am in fear of letting my daughter go out to see him now, but I don’t have any proof as to what he is doing except for what he tells me over the phone, which makes it difficult to take him to court. He won’t say anything incriminating over text messages or on my answering machine either. What can I do to protect my daughter?

if you get convicted for the first time on a felony and you dont remember doing what you did will you get a br

someone i know who never had a felony record has got into trouble recently…he went t a party and drank moonshine and blacked out and broke into a garage and stole a car and broke through the garage door with the car and put the police on a chase and crossed county line and does not remember commiting these crimes….will he get probaion and orders to seek alcohol treatment and pay restitution
he is a good person and works everyday and is a good family man he just messed up will they take that into cosideration in court
he really has no clue he did it…until he saw it on the news and had to shut it off cause he started flipping out…he is really sorry and wants to make it right to the peoples whos car and garage he ruined…he needs help not prison

How do you report a minor for drinking and doing drugs?

My boyfriend’s brother is an extreme alcoholic and drug abuser, and he’s 17. He told his dad (his parents are divorced but live together) that he smokes weed, but i don’t think he told him he drinks.

It’s pretty obvious by now he does drugs and drinks. And his dad obviously knows but isn’t doing anything.

I’m not sure what to do. I’d say it isn’t my life and isn’t my right to do anything, but my boyfriend (his brother) hangs around him all the time. And now he’s influencing my boyfriend to do drugs and drink! And my boyfriend spent the past several months quitting.

He’s not just ruining his own life, he’s ruining my boyfriend’s. And i can’t watch him do that.

So what can i do? I’m probably going to tell his parents, but they probably won’t do anything except tell him to stop. Is there any way i can get police involved, or something like that? Any way i can get a mandatory rehab for him? I know i’m not family and it would be hard, but what can i do?
It sucks cuz i’m being serious and i’m getting stupid responses. DX And like i said, i would just not do anything if it wasn’t for the fact he’s making my boyfriend do it. Like, literally holding him down and pouring Vodka down a 16 year old’s throat. He’s going too far. That’s why i need to stop him before he ruins my boyfriend’s life.
