I’d suggest there might be clinical consequences, if he’s on two different kinds of treatment without coordination between the two. One of the biggest challenges for clinicians is patients self-medicating or mixing up treatments – it makes it much harder to help them.

If your friend isn’t an addict and wasn’t doctor shopping, I can only think he wanted help, and in order to help, the doctor needs all relevant information, including other treatment regimes in place.

If your friend’s doctor is professional, then whatever has happened, his concern will still be to help your friend, providing that does not put the doctor himself at risk. If treatment is still needed, then that is still the most important thing, and most likely the main concern for everybody. So he should go back to the doctor preferred, and explain what has happened if he needs to.

Everyone makes mistakes, but the main thing is continue to get the necessary health advice, learn from the mistake and move on. Hope that’s useful.

If you want a legal answer, sorry, but perhaps someone else can help.

How often do people have to register under California law for sex, arson or narcotics convictions?

Question by John W: How often do people have to register under California law for sex, arson or narcotics convictions?
Do these individuals have to register for life? What is the consequence if they fail to register? Are photos taken each time they register?

Best answer:

Answer by U.S.Veteran
They have to re-register whenever they move, and yes, their photograph is taken by the police dept. where they move to.

They need to register for the rest of their lives unless a judge states otherwise, and if they fail to register and are caught, they go directly to jail.

what is the punishment for an under age driving with alcohol in L.A California?

Question by Quentin Lio: what is the punishment for an under age driving with alcohol in L.A California?
okay it was independent day, and I planned to bring two bottle of beer to my friends house and have some fun. But unfortunately I got pulled over because I forgot to put my new registration stickers on my license plate. Then the cops saw me with two bottles of alcohol in the front passenger seats, and they did the eye test to me.

I am 19 years old, and I brought the alcohol from my house. Does anyone know how much is the ticket and what should I say to the judge in order to decrease my punishment?
the bottles are not open

California and Arkansas have very strict “Minor in possession” laws. You can lose your license until you are 21. You do not need to be drinking to be charged.

Anyone know the California or federal law regarding storage and access to narcotics in a hospital?

Question by jclockson: Anyone know the California or federal law regarding storage and access to narcotics in a hospital?
I happen to know of a nurse that openly admits she gives the keys to the medication room to unlicensed staff so that they may get ‘other’ items stored in the med-room. I know this is against a few hundred corporate policies, but I need to see if there is a specific law stating that unlicensed staff cannot have unsupervised access to where narcotics are kept.
This is a problem that could potentially cost us our jobs on an upcoming inspection….

Best answer:

Answer by michr
law is not the issue policy is. the nurse is legally responsible for the meds if the nurse gives keys to anyone and something is missing that nurse will be held accountable. report the nurse to the nursing supervisor. this nurse is putting her license at risk as well as her job and could possibly effect the job of others he/she works with. the nurse must inventory and sign for all narcotics under their control at every shift change.
if this nurse did happen to have a “drug problem” and was stealing or failing to properly dispense meds this is an easy way to try and blame someone else. the nurse can now claim she let someone in med room for some other supply and hey stole narcotics. the company would most likely still terminate the nurses employment for failing to follow policy but the nurse just might be able to keep their license.
report the nurse now!!!

How does a parole hold work? If the person doesn’t have any charges on him for the arrest? (California)?

My brother was arrested last night, supposedly the story is that he went to help his wife at work, she is a bartender. She asked him to go and help her unload the alcohol cases. He said he went because there was no bouncer there last night. Anyways he told us they were trying to jump her and he was protecting her. I don’t know for sure but she said that some girl was starting stuff with her and I guess when they were leaving the people with this girl started messing with them and the though they were going to get jumped so I don’t know if they started fighting or what but of course something had to happen for cops to show up.

His wife said that no one was arrested accept for my brother because he was on parole and because he had alcohol in his system.

So now what happens, I went online to the inmate information to see what he was charged with and there is no charges on him only a parole hold.
Are there any chances that they will release him? Or does he automatically go back for 4 months just for the arrest?

How long will my drivers license stay suspended in California? Got a DUI 9 years ago, never went to AA classes.

I do not know where to post this question, figured maybe here. I got the DUI 9 years ago (it was my second) and was required to complete an 18 month AA program. I never went, but I did go to jail and paid all the fines (almost $2000). I was living in California at the time. I don’t live there any more and need info on getting it back. I went to the DMV here in Nevada and they said I have to resolve the issue in CA. Does anyone know what I need to do to get it back? Do I still need to complete an 18 month program after 9 years? I don’t even drink at all anymore, so I don’t need some class. Been lucky for 9 years, but would like my license back now.
Any help is appreciated…Thanks!

Child Custody/Visitation Question – California?

My husband is 40 and he has two sons (12 & 9) with his ex. They had joint legal custody and he had full physical custody until last December. She is a long time prescription drug addict and overdosed in December. We went to court and got full custody and stayed the visitation. Since then the DA has filed criminal charges against her and she got monitored visitation for two hours a week. According to the Order she is supposed to be going to an outpatient rehab and providing proof that she is doing so, we haven’t seen anything yet, all she provided was a letter from a sober living home that she doesn’t even live at. We did subpoena the records from this place but haven’t gotten anything back yet. We are going back to court next week and the judge said that she might be able to give her full visitation back if she provides the information requested in the order. She is definitely lying about going to the rehab, we have been to the meetings at the sober living home and she is no where to be found. How could the court give her full visitation back despite the fact that we have provided the court her extensive history, she has admitted to the abuse, has criminal charges against her and hasn’t done anything about it? We are trying to figure out if there is another way to prove that she is still using, we know that she is…just the fact that we need to prove it..any ideas?

Legal help please. I expunged a California sex offense, how to erase it?

I’m soon to Qualify for a Certificate of Rehabilitation in California. I’m sure I’ll get it. It’s kinda like a pardon and relieves the requirement to register as a sex offender (TG). I would like to have the record sealed. How hard is that? It was a misdemeanor but registrable (not involving a child). No, I’m not sick, just stupid.

I want to find alcohol rehabilitation centers in Kingsburg, California. How?

I have had quite a number of loved ones whose lives have been claimed by alcohol. There was one who died from a car crash because of drunk driving, and there are others who had died because of the toxicity of the substance. This is why I want so much to become someone who would help other people like them. I figured that if I become a counselor at an alcohol rehab, I may not bring back my dead loved ones, but I will get to spare others from the grief that I have felt when I lost them. I want to find alcohol rehabs so I could inquire about their requirements.
