Are there really regs saying you must be 21 to purchase these brews, or is it just that some misinformed clerks and bartenders are spreading this myth?

Question by jamie: how to i get a court order to have my son attend a drug and alcohol treatment center?
My son who is 17 has a drinking problem. I found two big bottles of vodka in his room and vodka concealed in water bottles in his refrigerator. I have found a treatment center in the area that I have made an appointment with but my son refuses to go saying he doesn’t have a problem. The treatment center said I might have to get a Court order issued. How do I go about doing that if I can’t convince my son to go.

Best answer:

Answer by aanglea
talk to his physician & your attorney. see what qualifications are required by your insurance company.

Question by Bill J: If you are cited for (MIP) of alcohol, is it possible that the court will perform a drug test.?
This is my first offense, im 17 and i received a citation for underage possession of alcohol (1 beer). How likely is it if at all that they will perform a court ordered drug test? I live in chicago, illinois. Also does something like this come of my record when i turn 18?

Best answer:

Answer by KC V ™
The court can require you to do anything including providing for a drug test.

When you turn 18, your juvenile record will be sealed provided you are not actively on probation beyond 18.

What do you think? Answer below!

Question by cabinetmember006: Court ordered drug and alcohol evaluation question?
Well long story short, six months ago i was caught with marijuana and the charge was reduced to disorderly conduct. A few days ago i received a letter in the mail saying i must take a drug evaluation thing and am scheduled to do so in a couple days. i WILL fail the urine test. My question is if this test shows up that i have used mary j (basically tested positive) what is going to happen?
Also, will this disorderly conduct hinder my ability to get into med school and keep a very professional career? (I was caught when i was 17, i am now 18)
Thanks and plz respond seriously.

Best answer:

Answer by JakeTheSnake
Well it depends, they can either disregard it completely or make you attend a period of once a week classes on marijuana and other drugs and take drug tests for like 3 months. it just depends on who the judge is and shit.

Implied consent means that drivers agree in advance to take a blood alcohol concentration test:
A. only if ordered by a judge
B. only on the advice of an attorney
C. if an accident has occurred
D. whenever they drive in California

Best answer:

Answer by Kenneth S
none of them seem to fit implied consent to my knowledge…however the most correct answer would be if an accident has occurred.

Implyed consent normally occurs when one is unconcious and it is needed to determine if a crime has occcured…in which case I would go with the accident one.

Question by NUNYA B: My husband and court ordered alcohol?
My husband had a court order to complete vsap a court ordered program for alcoholics. He had to restart the program in July for missing 2 days. The judge told him then he hopes when you come before me in August that this is all complete. So he restarted the program in late July and on his 2nd to last class he blew positive for alcohol. He goes back before the judge on August 20th. In your best opinion what do you think the judge will do?

Oh by the way the coordinator told him it would be up to the Judge. This is in the fine state of Virginia.

Best answer:

Answer by ornery and mean
It really depends on the judge. Some will allow for an occasional slip up, others are pretty hard core!

In this case the judge might have reason to believe that he has to “get your husband’s attention” since he had to restart the class once and “blew positive” for alcohol.

If his license is suspended … the judge can extend the suspension, if his license is not suspended yet, the judge can order his license suspended. In addition, if the judge is a real hard-case … he can impose a sentence for violating an order of the court.

On the bright side … the judge is not required to do any of these things! If your husband shows up in court with a good attitude and admits to drinking before class … the judge might just let him off the hook.

Better safe than sorry, he should make sure that he has a ride home from court!

Question by Quentin Lio: what is the punishment for an under age driving with alcohol in L.A California?
okay it was independent day, and I planned to bring two bottle of beer to my friends house and have some fun. But unfortunately I got pulled over because I forgot to put my new registration stickers on my license plate. Then the cops saw me with two bottles of alcohol in the front passenger seats, and they did the eye test to me.

I am 19 years old, and I brought the alcohol from my house. Does anyone know how much is the ticket and what should I say to the judge in order to decrease my punishment?
the bottles are not open

Best answer:

Answer by sensible_man
California and Arkansas have very strict “Minor in possession” laws. You can lose your license until you are 21. You do not need to be drinking to be charged.

What do you think? Answer below!
