My husband’s older sis has been addicted to meth since she was 13. All of us have tried to get her counseling and rehab, even church. Doesn’t work for her.
We moved 32 miles away from her and she still comes around harassing us every now and then to “visit” her daughter, whom we are taking care of now. She doesn’t even visit with her daughter, she just crashes out.
Sis in law always causes a scene in which the neighbors are yelling at her. Our house is in a peaceful drug free newer neighborhood. She is very rude and dirty.
My mother in law says we have to help with the little girl.
Sis in law destroys the house with her filthy two year old and lets him run in the streets, saggy diaper only.(Which upsets the neighbors of course) When I tell her to leave, my husband and his whole family call me and tell me I’m causing problems!!! It’s MY house!!
What do I do? My husband always sticks up for her, he says, “That’s my sister, she’s sick” When he does have serious talks with her she laughs it off and still comes over.
She knows I hate her, she just doesn’t care.

I don’t know, but there needs to be sterilization for child abusers and those who create dozens of kids and don’t pay child support for them.

My Dad has always been an addict and a criminal. Whether it was crack, alcohol, cocaine, or Oxycontin.. he has always been on something. His main problem has always been alcohol, however. For my entire life it has always been a huge issue. My parents have always fought over it and it has just become so tiresome.
On top of the alcohol, he has also been addicted to Oxycontin for over five years. So right now he is abusing both. He has been in and out of jail his entire life, but has never done serious time. He once forged a doctor’s signature in order to receive pills. He also has no license anymore after it was suspended for driving under the influence.
He was once the manager of a very big telemarketing company and my family bought a big 4 bedroom house in Florida in the mid 90′s. However, problems with alcohol and other things led my mom to leave him and caused us to losing everything we had. They in the late 90s and early 2000s my parents were on an off and eventually got back together in 2002. They’ve been together since they were 15.
My Mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and my Dad is still up to no good. Still drinking, still doing pills, still causing stress to everyone and I have had enough of this. It has become so tiresome and monotonous already that something just needs to be done. My Mom doesn’t want to be with him anymore but we’re not sure what options we have. Last week my Dad took the car somewhere and my sister called the cops hoping he would be arrested, but he got home before anything happened.
I don’t think he would go to treatment, and even if he did.. we wouldn’t be able to afford it. He doesn’t work and my mom is on disability. If my Mom simply kicked him out, he wouldn’t just leave and would cause a huge scene and refuse to leave and my Mom just doesn’t need that stress on her right now. My Mom is just tired of everything and needs to get away from him for good. We just don’t know how to make that happen.
If a drug addict is imprisoned, would he be able to undergo addiction treatment while in jail?

This just crossed my mind as I was reading a pamphlet about how drug users are sometimes imprisoned because of a variety of reasons. If they get released without being treated, it is likely that they will just commit crimes or acts of violence again.

I havn’t been w/ my boyfriend to long. But i care about him soo so much.. He is an ex-drug addict. He has been to jail twice for this, done a lot of really really bad things, that i can’t even mention.. Now.. he has been out of jail for 8 months, and was ordered by court to go to rehab for four.. so he has been out of that for four months now.. he has been sober from all this for 15 months now. The reason i am concerned, is not because i don’t trust him.. i know he can do this, he is a born again christian, and has done a complete 360. But most of his friends smoke weed, or some pop pills.. i am just afraid this is a bad influence on him, but i can’t tell him waht to do. do you have any advice on how to support him in this matter? Also he has recently decided to give up drinking, because he’s afraid of it being an addiction like drugs were. and also all his friends drink all the time, and when they come over thats what they do. Again, i just need to know how to support him.
He has told me that he would prefer if he stops drinking that i could do it to. because it would really help him. (see i only drink if i go out,, which is only a couple times a month) I told him this wouldn’t be a problem, i will do anything to help him out.. i am doing the right thing right? it’s not going to be hard for me to stop drinking at all.. i don’t drink much as it is. .. and i have never smoked anything. so that’s not a problem.. He’s an amazing person, and since he has turned to god, a lot of prayers have been answered. he’s down the right path, and i want to keep him there.
another thing.. i am just really scared.. i am falling for him, and i don’t want to get hurt w/ him just going and falling back into it.. plus i have a son (one year old boy) and i am trying to be extra cautious for my son’s sake.. i don’t want us to get hurt.. I trust dominick completely.. i guess i just need to pray about it, and let god lead him through this. I would never put my son in a bad situation… and dominick is amazing w/ him, and he treats me like an angel.

My sister is 23 prostituting herself for heroin. She lost her kids and her apartment. My mother seems to be in denial because my sister tells her she is sober and she believes it. My 15 year old caught her. My mom still gives her money I’m afraid she is going to die. Can I have her put in rehab without her permission I really want to see my sister again as a result of her drug use we barely speak and we used to be very close it hurts so much Child services court ordered her to go to rehab and she wont she cares more about drugs than her own kids. Please tell me how I can get through to her.

should he have rights to see his children? My girlfriends ex is all of the above and she has gone thru hell with the court system. The court orders him to rehab, he doesn’t go, then he gets another extension at the next hearing. What is wrong with the system?

My husband is in jail for driving while suspended and for bad checks he wrote in order to get drugs. If he is honest with the Judge and tells the Judge he is a drug addict will the Judge let him spend the remainder of his sentence in rehab instead of jail?
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! What does is take for the courts to order a drug addict into rehab?

I have an uncle who is addicted to cocaine, but has no desire so seek help. We have tried to help him, but he thinks his whole family hates him and is just out to get him. He has never been arrested for it, but if he did, how many times would he have to actually go to jail before the system sees fit to order him into rehab? Will they do it after the first offense? I don’t think he sells, I just think he is buying it for himself.
He lives at my grandma’s and has the blinders pulled over her eyes. She doesn’t see the problem, but in two years he cannot get a job. He keeps lying and making up excuses about why he can’t get work. He is sucking my grandma dry of all finances and she is even pawning everything she owns jUSt to give him money so he can “go find another job.”
Please help!!! Has anyone ever been through this and how can we help him?????
No one in our family is able to pay for him to go into rehab, that is why I want to know how the courts can help us out.
