Some lower income people cannot afford to eat healthier or don't know how to make better choices. Then there are people who eat whatever is fast or convenient. And, yes, I would think our tax dollars would be better spent on keeping us safe from addictive substances and the crimes that sometimes result from addiction. I am very concerned about the rise in addiction to prescription drugs. Instead of treating the root cause for peoples problems addictive painkillers are handed out like candy.
