Question by Kat: How do I collect court ordered child support in Georgia?
My ex was ordered to pay child support. It is in our divorce papers. He was to pay me directly. He stopped back in October. I have pleaded, bribed, begged and he refuses to pay. I called Ga. Child support recovery and it costs me to file an application with them and a lot of paperwork. Is there an easier and faster way to get him to realize I am serious and I want my money?

That’s the only way to do it as far as I know. You might be able to hire a private lawyer but that would end up costing you more I’m sure.

No the longer you wait to take action the longer he will realize in fact that you are not serious about it. If you have a court order that he has to pay – you can go back to court to get a contempt charge against him. Than you can have his wages attached, assests seized etc. But stop waiting and take action. Some courts will help you with the process and if it costs you legal fees they will make him pay that too. So as long as you keep doing nothing he realizes that you will do nothing. – SOOOO Go get him. I just finished up with my ex (not paying child support for 2 years) and the judge ordered her to pay all the back child support, my court costs and all the back everything she owed me. It does work buy you have to go after him.

nope.
well, you could hire a couple of thugs to go beat him up – but that probably will cost more than your filing fee from the CSA.
If you are in need of the money that badly, why let a few forms get in your way?

try to get on public assiatance.. and let them go after him.. if your getting welfare,.. food stamps,, medicare for the child.. the state will want their money back..but if it don’t cost to much to file the papers i would file it.. it is tax time and hopefully you will be getting a big check.. if not may is just around the corner.. and we all well be getting that other check.. as long as your not in the 75,ooo dollar category
