I just need to forget about everything and clear my mind for a little bit.
I’m in this fight with a few of my friends and I can’t stand it! They have always been there for me, for everything, and now we are in this fight. I have tried desperately to solve it, but it has spun out of control and people are taking sides. Something that originally was between me and one other girl turned into something between my school and our brother-school. It no longer involves me and the other girl, but it still affects us daily.
My father is in prison and for the last year, it has been terribly hard on us! He has been my role model since I was little and it’s so hard not having him around. My mother is an alcoholic and her alcoholism has been getting progressively worse. Last night she was passed out by 6pm and I spent an hour crying to me friends about how I didn’t know what to do with her, but I was concerned for her safety.
I just need to escape from all of this and clear my mind. I need a moment to breathe and think. So what do you all do when your going through something challenging?

I usually take a loooong bath and listen to music, or go for a walk with my dogs (:

When I was going through rough stuff… music was like happy pills for me. It’s still one of the only things that will cheer me up when I’m upset. I dived in and didn’t do anything but listen to music and bury my head into my bed and let everything fade away. When music didn’t work I wrote everything that was bothering me into a letter sending it to some random person and then I used to put it in the mailbox adressed to nobody knowing that the stuff that was bothering me was out in the open cleared my head.

Well last year when my dad died I just kept as busy as possible. I kept myself so busy I didn’t have to think about it.
Try:
Babysitting
Taking a Walk
Going to the gym and working out
Hang out with friends
Listen to Music
Write a Song (if you sing/play an instrument)
Draw/Paint/ Sculpt
Go see a movie
Go bowling
Go to a theme park
Go Swimming
Read a Book
Write a Story
Bake desserts/ breads etc
Get a Job
Go shopping
Just anything to keep you busy! You could also keep a diary/journal to get some stuff off your chest every night so you don’t have to keep thinking about it.
