I’m getting a court ordered alcohol evaluation in Illinois.?

Does anyone know if I will have to take a drug test also? Either a blood or urine test.

you’re lucky this happened before you killed someone while driving. get some counseling for your problem and make something of yourself.

check with the local authorities that will administer your tests–they can answer all questions.

Yes. You will get a full toxicology screen. It sounds like you need one.

More than likely yes. If it is court ordered, they will check for drug use.

I wish you well. A member of my family was arrested for driving under influence and I believe she did have to take tests.

I’m worried about her because she still drives after drinking.

    Good luck and God bless!!

Probably. Just be honest even if they don’t do one. You have little to lose by honesty and a lot to gain! You’ll see. Being dishonest makes you childish, a game player and fearful. Is that the way you really want to continue living your life?

If you get a urine tox screen, whatever you are using shows up, they don’t “just look for alcohol.”

If you are mandated for treatment, you will be given regular urine tox screens, and a positive urine will be reported, no matter what it is positive for.

That depends on the evaluator. Not all evaluations include testing, but some do. It depends on the offense, the probation officer, and the counselor (if you had a DUI with high BAC, and are on the young side, they will probably do urine testing).

But it all depends. If it is an alcohol test, it may not include drugs, but could depending on the offense, court, etc.

Smartest thing would be to cease all alcohol and drug use immediately. If you can’t then you NEED to see someone anyway

All tests you will undergo must me in the court order. If you have a copy read it!!

Do not worry about things you cannot control. The court order gives you no option other than to appear when and where indicated. You may be able to obtain a postponement via an attorney, but you will have to appear sometime.

Get your system as clean as possible in the mean time.

Whether or not you are dependent on the substance(s), you should seek some form of formal, organized help, and counseling: great for getting pertinent information regarding the effects, side effects, and any long term disabilities caused by substance abuse..if for no other reason than your own 411.

Awareness of the facts is sometimes a sobering, life changing experience.

Sometimes a court order is issued to determine status-quo, and sometimes as a first step in helping them to helping you to help yourself. Don’t be surprised if additional periodic or even random tests are required.

You should think enough of yourself to get clean and stay clean. Depend on your brain, not contraband substances to get you through the day, month, and years. You can rely on your brain and advice from those smarter than you. The only thing you can rely on contraband substances for is more trouble, and unnecessary expenses.
