    I know they can put you in a mental institution if they think you have problems and might hurt yourself or others. I have no idea if it is the same for alcohol abuse.

    But, if you have a problem with alcohol, why would you not address it? Why don’t your family want to help you?

    I think it’s sad the only one who seems to care is your doctor.

    Get help. it only gets worse the longer you wait.

    No, unless your doctor is willing to foot the bill for your stay there. Even if you have insurance, some do not cover rehab. Sounds like your family doesn’t want to support in this because if they sign you in they will be responsible for the cost, right? However, why were you seeing a doctor and why wouldn’t you be willing to get this help? Your question is very vague, very difficult to answer. Hope you get the help you need what ever that is you need.
